GRAPHIC: Wal Mart Pork Supplier, Obscene Cruelty

    http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/video...0ax6FTlp4HLr0c

This raises a popular question, should cruelty to animals be ceased when processed to meat for stores?
    Personally, I believe so.

I understand the food chain, and they serve a higher purpose to support life as a whole, and stuff seen in the wild with other animals is graphic as well.
But what alternative methods can be used to kill these animals? The use of drugs could hinder the quality of the meat and be detrimental to us.

But is slamming baby piglets against the floor really necessary?

Basically Sikhs and Hindus kill the animal with a single blow, administered when the animal is not expecting it. Seems much kinder than some methods.

I don't think it is. There's less painful methods to kill the animal, and if a meat producer wants to produce meat for wholesale then they should use those methods. You can just cut the jugular in its neck, for instance. It's not entirely painless, but I'd wager it's far less painful than slamming it against the floor.

Is that what it actually is? I'm not going to visit the link to see for myself as seeing animal cruelty puts me on a total downer and/or raging rage of ragey rage day.

A clean death is the best death, i'd want to die quickly via a bullet to the head.

So a boltgun for the majority, the slitting of throats and the like is a little unpalatable to me - but it is what it is.

We want to continue eating meat, we need to get used to animals suffering before they end up on our plates.

But there's a line between humanely killing an animal, and slamming it on the floor like mentioned.

Killing an animal for food should be done as quickly and painlessly as possible in a way that doesn't affect the meat. My mother used to live on a farm and was responsible for killing some of the animals. Chopping off a chicken's head, or crushing a rabbit's head with a hammer are two examples. A little gruesome, but at least they don't suffer.

The link is safe, I am an animal lover myself and would not link something cruel to animals.

Not surprising it's Walmart. Reason #474563 I don't even shop there.

Those comments on WSHH though, dear lord that is some of the craziest unfiltered derp I've ever seen lol.

Then you do NOT want to watch the video. Just made that mistake.

For those who also don't want to watch the video, it is as you'd imagine. They pick up the piglet by its hind legs, slam it into the floor, then throw them in a big hamper of dead piglets; though half of them were clearly still alive. The treatment they are getting is obviously done because it's cheap and quick, which is pretty consistent with how I see Walmart.

How do we know that this is actually a Wal-Mart supplier. How does Wal-Mart hold any of the blame, the video is just name dropping for controversy. Just like we buy stuff and don't know exactly how its made, thats how Wal-Mart buys its meat. Its not Wal-Mart is telling them to do it, this supplier just happens to do it and allegedly sells to Wal-Mart. Its funny how people don't go after the people who actually run the farm or the government bodies that can ensure better practices.

Because whoever is buying their products is supporting their methods by keeping them in business.

Eh, better than seeing hundreds of chickens having their throat slit by a giant rotating blade - and every once in a while one will move out the way, only to enjoy a nice steaming vat of water to get rid of the feathers.

I've seen more animal cruelty videos than i care for, but each one still makes me sad seeing it as much as the first one.

who cares they are dumb animals used for food

Oh for fuck sakes. Can we please start putting more money and effort into schmeat? This is horrid. I didnt watch the video, but I already think that current standards are below what they should be. Animals need larger pens and better treatment. The mode of death should be the quickest and most painless, with people standing by with guns for the unlucky ones who just happen to survive.

Lmao "pigs are punched slapped and yelled at as workers move them".

I don't know why, but that's just funny to imagine.

Edit: This is the food industry guys, get over it. Animals are treated like shit on meat farms, what do you expect?

Also, whats worse, the way the pigs are treated and killed in that video, or this one:
