Until more details are known, jerking a knee and crying about SYG is baseless.
Who knows what was going on, she could have been banging on the door and screaming incoherently, and the homeowner thought she was perpetrating a crime.
A whole bunch of hyperbole and sensationalism surrounding this story, from the "predominantly white neighborhood" to the "body dumped in another part of town" bullshit.
Makes me glad I live in a sane state where this shooters would be hauled off.
No details beyond a loaded article, but my initial reaction is for the police to arrest and charge for murder; I may be wrong on the assumption, as innocent until proven guilty but the story so far indicates the accused is trying the best course of action to avoid a jail sentence.
Michigan is a castle doctrine state, good luck filing charges against a home owner who could rationally believe a person on their property at 2:30am is committing or about to commit a crime.
And i hate to be the one to say this, but reading 10 articles so far - it's all pointing to "Racism"; it's the default stance here it seems...
It may or may not be, but the amount of hysteria about it when little to no details are known...
If I shot someone in self defense like this (if that is what happened) I can promise you that the next thing I am doing is calling the police to report it. The article makes it sound like this was not the case, which could really fuck the homeowner in the end.The unnamed person who answered the door didn't offer to help the stranded teen out, instead the Dearborn Heights resident fatally shot McBride in the head.
Looks like it from just this article. I'd like to add that this is not Trayvon 2.0.
Edit: I thought it said unarmed, not unnamed.

Police won’t release his name or say whether he’s in or out of jail. A neighbor who spoke to police on the scene said they believed it was a self defense case.
‘He say, somebody tried to get in his house, or seems like force,’ the neighbor told WJBK. ‘He got scared and shot the person.Police have thus far released very little information on the case, which tragically parallels a case from just a few weeks backPolice first said McBride’s body had been dumped in the comparatively wealthy suburb because of its proximity to the city. That story has changed, however, and now authorities say she was killed near where she was found.
And they’ve identified the man who shot her, though it still unclear whether he was even the one who alerted authorities.
Going to wait for more details to surface here, but what are peoples opinions here - Does said person have a leg to stand on so to speak?
He could portray the petrified type scared of someone breaking in, and as such it was within his rights to open fire.
But it's a big leap of logic to support that, most notably her being shot in the back of the head, the movement of the body, and the lack of contacting the authorities.
The only support he has, is his neighbors - Which aren't really that credible.
