    Upgrade or new system

    Hi.

I've had my current pc for a couple of years now (specs below) and am wondering if it is worthwhile upgrading any or all of the components or whether it is simply time for a new system.

Predominantly used for playing WoW but when I came to look to buy Call of Duty: Ghosts the limitations of it were evident (6GB RAM really!!!)

I can use a PC but am not proficient enough to build one myself (this was an off-the-shelf system) and was just after some feedback on what more pc-savvy folks thought.

All coments greatly received. Thanks for your time.

    Specs:

    CPU
    AMD Athlon II AM3 X640 45nm 3.0ghz Overclocked to 3.4ghz + Up-rated Spire 90mm CPU Fan

    Memory
    4gb Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz (System Max 8gb)

    Motherboard
    Asrock N68 UCC

    Graphics
    Nvidia Fermi GTX550 Ti DX11
    1gb at 4100mhz

    Corsair CX 500W PSU

    What is your budget?

Looks like it's time for a new system honestly.

PSU could maybe be reused along with the RAM. HDD and case, depending on what it is.

If I was buying a new system, I would think somewhere around £600 - £700.

Was really just interested to know if £100 - £200 spent on upgrading components would have much value or whether that would be better put towards a total new system.

If you were to not do a full system then I would just get the GPU above for £133 but your system overall needs an overhaul.

Skip the HDD if you can reuse your current one and either get a bigger (250GB) SSD or simply save the money. Same with your case and maybe PSU (though I recommend a better quality PSU)

The Memory was on a 24-hr offer, so you can still get that and stay within budget, but it'll be much closer.

Ah yeah Partpicker UK isn't too great at picking up RAM changes at all. Often much more expensive than it shows.
