    [TV] Almost Human

Was really impressed with the pilot episode. There's a good mix of drama action and comedy. The only problem I had with it was His ex being the woman who threw the bomb. It was extremely predictable and cliche. Hopefully it will end up being just a glitch or something from the black market technology. That's not too bad though, I can live with that. It's looking to be an excellent show so I'm bracing myself for fox to cancel it.

Seemed like a pretty good show, especially for 7pm CST Monday when there wasn't really anything worth watching anyway.

When the trailers started running, I immediately put it on my DVR's recording list. Can't pass a TV Series that has Karl Urban and Michael Ealy in the leading roles I thought, since I like both actors.
The last few weeks I've ran into people outright confusing this all new series with the years old series "Being Human".
So, watched it last night, and I give it a definite two thumbs up. The level of production costs is very obvious, and I was amazed how much detail they've put into a tv series on a public channel. I mean, FOX has the money for it, yet it is still unusual to actually do it.
I've read several reviews, with some I don't agree at all, with some I agree somewhat..
This one I found to agree with the most:

I would not bet on FOX cancelling it..
They ramp up quality lately with some stuff. The Following wasn't cancelled either. The next season starts in January.
They've cancelled TOUCH after 2 seasons, but quite frankly that show became stale after like 3 episodes. Touch would be good material for a movie, not so much a tv series.

Not really sure what to think yet. Introductory episodes never really give a good enough impression to me. Not enough comedy for my taste, and the premise is ripe with opportunity. It also didn't help that the trailer implied such humor.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. Not amazing or anything but not bad either.

    Has potential.
They're not airing the episodes in production order, next week will be 1x05 if I'm not mistaken. This is kind of a red flag to me, FOX know how to destroy sci-fi series (Firefly had the same treatment).

Well Firefly's main problem was that they didn't play the Pilot where all the characters were introduced and the main plot was laid out until the final episode. They threw us into the Train Job not knowing anything at all about the characters or what's going on. Almost Human's treatment isn't quite the same because we got an introduction to John and Dorian and got some backstory on both and the main plot for the season.

I think the writers of the last episode had just watched the original Die Hard.

I fail to see any connection between the second episode and Die hard. Only movie it reminds me off is I, Robot.

Not the second episode, the third. If you can't see the connection between Die Hard and an episode where bad guys take a bunch of people hostage on the top floor of an Office Building then I'm not sure you've seen Die Hard.
