why government health care in the US is dead in one chart

The public DID support the idea by wide margins, until Obama took office and gave us Obamacare. In the last two years, support has completely collapsed. Now a large majority do not want government health care. This is an issue the republicans will destroy the democrats with if they insist on trying to make it work.

I declare government health care dead in the US. That is a mandate to repeal the entire thing if I ever saw one.

I declare myself master of the universe. My declaration trumps your declaration.

Funny, the shift appears to have started in 2006 before Obama was even elected.

Thank you for providing a graph that thoroughly proves misleading propaganda works on uninformed voters.
2014 Gamergate: "If you want games without hyper sexualized female characters and representation, then learn to code!"
2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"

It looks kind of like it coincides with the coming o' the recession. there's a drop in '07, but '08 is when it really steeply falls.

Coming from a country with free healthcare I am so amazed america is against it. My mum got cancer a few months ago and you know how much everything has cost her? NOTHING. If it was in the US she would have had to sell her house just to pay for it and I would have had to lend her all my savings for a house as well. Just to live. There is reasons the world doesn't like you and this is just one.

Can't afford treatment? well fuck you just die. That is what it looks like.

Seriously, the people being dismissive in this thread are wildly off base. Feel free to argue actual points, but the OP didn't just make things up.

I support universal healthcare, but let's be clear, there's no such thing as "free" healthcare.

You mean the public did support the idea until the GOP started their smear campaign, right? And the issue is already working, and will continue to be law for the foreseeable future.

You pay taxes no matter what. 2% extra a year to save peoples lives is what I would count as free.

That's a really bizarre line of reasoning. Things that only cost me thousands of dollars per year are now free? Yay, my car is free! Again, this can be a good policy without pretending that it's free.

Maybe it has something to do with all the crap that fox news has been spewing about "SOCIALIST NAZI DICTATOR HEALTHCARE"

Death panels..yeah right. Who believes this shit?

2% is such a tiny tiny amount to save peoples lives that it might as well be free. But as Raybourne said. America doesn't seem interest in saving lives. Fuck the poor let them die!

The cost of healthcare is not 2% of the budget.

The poor are actually covered by government healthcare already in the United States. It's the lower middle class that are thoroughly fucked. Please, if you're going to shit on a country, please at least be mildly informed about the situation.
