Haste Gear & Protection Paladins(LFR/Coin question)

I remember reading something about Prot Paladins being able to get haste gear drops from lfr/coins in 5.4(can't find it for some weird reason), is that true or am i mistaken? Should I select retri in LFR if I want haste gear or I can actually get haste gear as prot?

You can get haste gear as prot as long as it doesn't have crit on it. However, all the change did is add extra bloat to rolling as protection. You could still win a dodge/parry item if you roll instead of a haste item, and often times it's still best to roll as ret to minimise your chances of getting something you don't want.

Best way to do it, is look at what the boss can drop for each spec in the dungeon journal and plan which loot spec you'll roll with on a boss-by-boss basis.
