The skyrim modder got a job at Bungie

    Hey,

I remembered the somewhat heated discussion around that guy that made the Falskaar mod for Skyrim about if he should get a job or not at Bethesda. This was in my facebook feed this morning so congrats to him

    Edit :

Yea i think it should be moved to video game discussions.

Times like this make me wish I could join the PC master race.... if only I had the money atm. I love these modders and wish that one day us console ppl can get some of the mods too (w/o breaking our consoles.... i have a few friends who tried this whole hacked thing aaannnd.... that was a few hundred down the drain)

But the mods are always impressive (except the sexy mods.... come on guys) I want these guys who make these mods (usually single handed) to get jobs and make us games in the future. It brings a smile to my face to know that it happens

Yay, he's working on Destiny, a console-only game which I will never play.

You know you can build a gaming PC for around the same price as a console. $500-$600 will get you a low-end (but still FAR superior to console) gaming PC.

Why Bethesda wouldn't hire someone that is obviously talented and hard working is beyond me. Some people are really short-sighted. Anyway, congrats to him and I hope he has success in Bungie, he certainly worked hard for it.

A PC game modder is working for Bungie who do console exclusives with no moddability. Well if you're a desperate sellout...
From the most open and free platform to the most restricted.

Why ? 1000s of people can mod, just he was allowed to put laods of time into it, i'm guessing he must have other credentials ? Otherwise they could have got far more qualified people.

Oh grow up. The guy got a job in the Games Industry, exactly what he was hoping for; and for Bungie no less, who are a pretty fucking good company. The idea you're a sell-out for being successful is absurd.

I know. You won't believe me when I say this, but devs LOVE consoles because it's one set of specs.

It's like Andy Worhol's comment about coca-cola. A coke is a coke. The president can't get a better coke than the bum on the street. You know exactly what the players will have and don't have to worry about all different graphics cards, Different OS versions, different CPU configs and what not. This way a dev can just focus on the GAME instead of spec adjustments.

Trust me, that guy is using MUCH more powerful tools at bungie right now than the Skyrim modding kit. :P

Pirating on console is harder as well.
You're right except for 2 things.

    1. My name is spelt "God" not "Loucious-sama".
    2. I'm not a man, because man is inherently flawed. I am in fact a being so far beyond your comprehension that archaic constraints like flesh, blood, time and consequently, gender, have no meaning to me.
