The Universe is filled with trillions of trillions of trillions of galaxies but we're alone in it LOL!
And remind us again, what statistical probability has to do with that quote and disclosure? The quote does not imply that without evidence the mere possibility of alien life should be dismissed. It means that without evidence the claim that some ppl make about conspiracies and disclosure can be dismissed.
Not quoting anyone in this thread though...what exactly are you prattling about? Or your problem with me exactly? Because right now I'm confused why you're giving me the gears.
I in fact agreed with the statement in principle, and suggested that people who go that route should be scrutinized, but it doesn't stop there from being a statistical probability that aliens exist...and most sensible people wouldn't suggest that they do exist with any certainty...
just commenting here so i can watch this when i get home.. =)
Imagine going to a huge, miles-long beach. Just huge, stretches as far in both directions as your eyes can see.
Now carefully, meticulously pick up a tiny pinch of sand, brushing what little there is away until only a single grain remains. A single grain. Put it under a microscope and you see that it has billions of microscopic lifeforms, so tiny that to them, that grain of sand is a world in and of itself.
Now return to that beach, stare down its miles of sand and try and tell yourself that only one grain of it supports life. Because that's pretty much what you're doing if you believe that only Earth has life on it. This universe has trillions upon trillions of stars and planets - to quote a nasa estimate, "Astronomers estimate there are about 100 thousand million stars in the Milky Way alone. Outside that, there are millions upon millions of other galaxies also."
I don't presume to know whether or not we've ever been visited by something more advanced or powerful than us, but I think it takes a special sort of ignorance to deny the probability of there being life elsewhere.
4 species of aliens visiting Earth for thousands of years. Yep. Yep. That's believable. Totally.
It relies on the assumption that the grain you picked out developed the capability to sustain life without any outside intervention. We cannot safely assume that there are other grains that have life if we do not prove that the grain is capable of life on its own. This isn't being religious, this is just being scientific. You're making a logic jump. We have 1, but we do not have 2, therefore we cannot declare that 3 comes after.
So, not one but three different species of intelligent aliens are currently living and working among us.
The Illuminati, aka Kabel is controlling the world and George W Bush is planning an intergalactic war?
Oh gee, I only have half a roll of tinfoil left. Think I'll just have to order an industrial sized roll from Ebay.

You're talking about the same Parliament that has an 'official stance' on zombie invasions.
Just saying, the guys in Canadian Parliament really don't have a whole lot to do.
I do believe aliens exist its almost impossible that we're the only ones. but on the matter of us getting a visit from aliens? all there is to say is here:
If neil, michio and such people dont know about aliens no one does. they are the top of the top, top shelf of our scientists in this field.

Hey, it's a good stance. "Canada will never be a safe haven for zombies" is a policy I can get behind. And at any rate, the hearings were held by Paradigm Research Group which is an independent ufologist group, in Washington, and the group paid the former US senators and representatives $20,000 each to be there. So aside from the fact that Paul Hellyer was the former Canadian Minister of Defense, the whole thing had absolutely nothing to do with Canada or it's parliament.
Kaleredar... dont you think if there were some actual evidence some one would tell them about it? who they contact first do not matter since we are able to communicate.
besides why would they come and actually land and make contact if i were aliens i would not make contact to a race that kills millions of its own kind because of some imaginary friends.
