I liked Operation: Shieldwall the best but not the PvP quests. The group quests were also pretty lame on a dead server like mine.

Makes you wonder how you can go from a mid 60's range of people doing content to below 15 percent. With so much focus this expansion being on raiding what are the other people doing?
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

"Percentage of players that completed a raid on any difficulty"
2.9 accounts which belong to guilds. Out of what, 8 million total?
More like "Percentage of raiders who belong to a raid guild that completed a raid on any difficulty."
I'd love to see that chart broken up by difficulty, but sadly that's impossible since the 'Just kill bosses" achievements are for any difficulty.
WoW didn't expect glory of SoO is so rare. It was actually really easy this time around without hc kills.
I can't share that viewpoint at all, Timeless Isle is the epitome of drudgery as far as I'm concerned.Timeless Isle is the polar opposite of 5.0's terrible drudgery.
So people like that a world boss can drop tier gear? So that's what, 10 minutes a week with OQ? And the rest of the time it's a redundant piece of shit? That's not good design, it's abysmal.
The gear changes makes me think they're just doing them just to avoid having to create as much gear...
I don't like it. Now I'll have to compete with spell dps for items in raids and I don't think it'll actually make me feel like I'm playing a healer...
That would explain Mage lvl 90 talent. :sOriginally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment
Poor guy, only plays Wow for gear.
Timeless Isle is the best thing that comes from this shitty pandaland expansion. It gives people that don't like killing the same boss in a raid every week something to do. It brought back world pvp. And more importantly it brought life to the game. On a lot of servers the island is filled with people, doing different things. The last few expansion the only thing people did together was standing in Stormwind/Orgrimmar.

The 2.9 million is actually a real number compared to the 8 million PR number. There are probably 3-4 million total players currently.
I guess your experience depends on what server you are on. I'm on a medium populated PvE realm. There are now maybe 10 players on Timeless Isle.
Timeless Isle is only about gear. It was popular the first two weeks because of the rewards and nothing else. Everyone was drowning in epics in two weeks time and now there is no one there except for a few achievement/mount farmers.
We also couldn't have more boring world bosses. Everyone zerges them after reset in 15 minutes. How is that good design and fun content? Are you actually doing them for something else than loot?
Past the initial cloak quests, and about 2 kills of Ordos and Celestials, I haven't been on the Timeless Isle since about 3 weeks after release. If you're an achievement or pet hunter I might see some value, but you can get all that done pretty soon, and after that I don't have any idea why you would return there, except to kill the world bosses and even that gets old once you got better gear. It's a complete clusterfuck zone, with no guidance no nothing, boring as hell.
I've spent far more time with the previous patches, and it was also much more fun personally. Guess the free epics outweigh the need of a coherent progression and guidance, the Timeless Isle brings me a bit back to Vanilla with the endless pointless grinding, of the same zone, and I don't like that at all - whilst it was OK in Vanilla it's not OK in todays times - it's just tedious and boring.

"Nerfing flying. Nerfing manareg in healing. Anything else?" Why the Blues respond to people like this is beyond me.
"As much as I love laser light shows, is there any chance well be able to turn off other people's spell effects in the future?" What?! I don't even...
Also, had no idea there was a weekly quest in the Barrens :P Out of those five, I like Timeless Isle best or I should say, hate Timeless Isle the least but ONLY because Daily Quests killed a part of my soul, Solo (or any) Scenarios are the second most boring thing in this game. When I heard about the Timeless Isle I resubbed after having been gone a month or four because I just couldn't deal with any more dailies to do on my army of alts, I was beyond fed up, at least on this boring Island I could gear up my toons a bit faster and have access to more LFR raids with alts a lot sooner.
Happy with LFR but seriously am not happy in this expansion with the focus on daily quests and scenarios, and the neglect of Heroic Dungeons. Seems like the trend of neglecting Dungeons will continue in WOD with the little amount at launch and another recycling of an old dungeon I don't care about, at least there will be less dailies.
IMO they should have max level normal dungeons, heroic dungeons and challenge modes so everyone is happy. It's not that much effort to give us this.
I'm wondering how much that number will be effected by the 'cycle' of the patch going all the way through. I imagine, just like a surge of interest in Wow at 5.3 and 5.4, there might be a few more %'s added to the Seige Completion numbers by WoD's release. Just curious, because imo, the data's never complete till it's "complete", know what I mean?
well, you might be happy to know they're going back to the Wrath idea of adding 5-mans after launch with patches. So while it'll be about on par with MoP for launch dungeons, it'll have more of them by the end(and potentially keep the 5-man scene alive after the first content patch).
Edit: Personally, I loved the 'pitch' of Timeless Isle, but would like to see a cross between it and 5.1's 'continuous story'. Sounds like, from Blizzcon statements it may be more along those lines(the "Blueprint for WoD" line about Timeless Isle and I remember seeing another one about more 'structured story' in endgame grind, so fingers crossed!)

I have geared maybe 6 alts on the island, that's a lot of time spent. The main reason why the island is fun because it makes the game feel like an MMO again. Before this island the only time I saw other players was when they stood afk in SW/Org. For example, all weekend I have been world pvping on the isle. Lots of fun.
How they follow this up is another question though.
What's amusing is that only 11% have killed Ordos, which means that for the "welfare legendary" it's a far cry from everyone has it.
Gone for Thanksgiving, first thing I heard about the Ghostcrawler departure. Not terribly sad to see him go, the game seemed to somewhat lose it's way and meander all over his place while he was at the helm. Curious how much of an impact he still had on WoD.
