TradeSkillMaster dealfinding with missing battle pets

So I've just started using TradeSkillMaster (TSM) and tested also the desktop app. I'd like to get notifications if there are any ToT / SoO raid pets in AH below a certain price. As far as I know, I should make a group that lists these items and create a shopping operation for that group and then TSM_shopping will create a dealfinding list or something like that. And after that the desktop application will notify me if it picks up a good deal on one of the servers it's scanning for me.

But how do I add a pet to a group, lets say Kovok, if I don't care about the level or breed of the pet?

The pets I'm still missing are Living Fluid, Son of Animus, Viscous Horror, Blackfuse Bombling, Droplet of Y'Shaarj and Kovok. To add a level of complexity, I'm also tracking Tiny Red Carp and Tiny White Carp which can be either as items or battle pets. In AuctionLite I can just type the name of the items (not the ID string) and save them to a favorite list to check for all variants, but using TSM app would of course be much more advanced as it would search across servers.

Does anyone know if this is possible or feasible to do in TSM?

Go to WowHead and find the item. Then look at the URL and it will have the item id. Use that in TSM.

The issue was that I need to add a different string for all levels from 1 to 25 because it asks to use the full string for battle pets. I found this thread http://stormspire.net/official-trade...et-string.html which is from last August, where someone mentions "But first I will test the wildcard theory once the servers come up and post the results here" but there's no update, so I'm not sure if this issue was resolved to make more feasible or not.

Edit: Also, Wowhead doesn't show the correct string for battle pets, just the general spell id. For example in Wowhead Kovok's ID is npc=73354, but in http://www.petsear.ch/CounterFinder the ID is 1334.

Interesting. After some thought I think in my instance, i was using the actual dropped pet for my list. (I made a list for DMF pets to buy and resell and those aren't bop.)

But in the thread you linked, it said just listing the p:848 string would be sufficient in finding the pets.

You can use the following command to get something nearly importable. In this example I'm using [Fishy] as the battlepet. Make sure you keep the quotes around the battlepet link.

/run print(TSMAPI:GetItemString("[Fishy]"))

You'll get something like:

battlepet:847:3:2

Then replace "battlepet" with "p" and type it into the import box (like so):

p:847:3:2

You could also leave off the last two sets of numbers and just import "p:847" (without the quotes) if you don't want the breed info. Hope this helps.

EDIT: www.warcraftpets.com will give you the pet id.


Sorry for not being much help. But the pets you are looking for don't have very much complexity to them. They are all defaulted to rare. I'd personally just add the basic code and server hop high pop servers looking for them.


Also, what kind of price are you paying for son of Animus? I have one I would consider trading. (US server.)

Thanks anyways. I ended up using the excel file in the thread I linked, I just had to add the SoO pets to it. Though I forgot to add tiny carps... I'm playing on EU side unfortunately. It also seems that the application is pretty unresponsive on my computer. Probably a Windows 8.1 issue. :/

And yeah, it was simple with the list of pets I had, but I always like to ask in case in the future I would like to set up a bigger list, at which point it would require more work to do it all semi-manually.

I registered just so I can help with this. Here is the most complete TSM Pet list (with caged pets) that I have. I believe I have most, if not all, of the pets for TSM. This list includes pets for rare and uncommon quality so you'll see "duplicate" names but one is blue and one is green.
