I wonder why the rest of the world hasnt caught up with the US and adopted the Imperial measurement system, and its a shame Ireland had to drop it when they joined the EU (big mistake in my opinion). The metric system requires people to remember tons of suffixes and prefixes, from milli, mega, exa, peta, kilo, etc.... Which is hard for kids to remember. The Imperial system you just have to remember the numbers you already know (hundreds, thousands, millions, etc..) Its so much easier to use the Imperial system as every knows a mile is 5280 feet. Hardly anyone knows how many meters are in a mile because its complicated to calculate.
Plus when you go to McDonalds a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, sounds much better and yummier than a 113.398 Grammer with Cheese
