look someone is mad with OP but has no logical backing to their argument.
the Japanese government told their people if the Americans captured them they would be tortured. On all the islands we invaded the civilians killed themselves. What do you think would happen if we invaded mainland Japan. It was the right thing to do.
No one talks about the MILLIONS of chinese civilians that the Japanese killed via testing chemical weapons against chinese civilians and cities and just massacring them in general. What's up with that? Dropping the atomic bombs isn't even comparable to that.

Nothing is truly evil....Gray is the color of the world for those who are not children reading a fantasy story. But it seems you see things in only black and white..... If you want I can put it like this "The Japanese are evil....The things they did in China and Korea are unspeakable and they attacked pearl harbor with despicable suicide bombers who don't care about anyone's life other than their dark and sinister Emperor. What America did was revenge for those atrocities." But that's not true there more to it like anything in the world. Nothing is black and white.

You do realize that after the second bomb the vote among Japanese rulers on whether or not to surrender was still deadlocked. As in even after the second bomb there was still not a majority decision to surrender. The Emperor (who prior to that took very little direct role) stepped in to cast the deciding vote in favor of surrender.
And after he did so, there was an attempted military coup by several high ranking officers who wanted to keep fighting. After the SECOND bomb.
Oh, and let's not forget that Japanese surrender was contingent upon their term that the Emperor be allowed to maintain his position. Despite the fact that the Allied demand called for unconditional surrender. But the Japanese insisted on a condition. So they gave pretext for the dropping of additional bombs with their refusal to surrender unconditionally. Luckily there were those in Washington willing to do some delicate diplomatic dancing to work around the issue because it had been widely decided that enough was enough and let's just end this thing. Again, after the second bomb.
So yeah, that "second bomb was unnecessary" or "Japan would have surrendered anyway" arguments tend to ignore some easily accessible historical facts.
The bombings of Japan were nothing more than tests on humans. The Americans wanted to see how many people they can kill and which type of bomb is better for killing people.
Leó Szilárd and 69 more scientists (that worked on the bomb) tried to stop the bombing and urged the US president to warn the public of Japan before using the bombs, but most of them lost their job.
This topic is as good as saying that 9/11 was the best thing that could of happened for the US to get an excuse to enter the middle east.
See what i did there? Killing thousands of people from the safety of your home unto unknowing civilians is in my opinion worse than people fighting on a battlefield on "fair" conditions is there is such a thing in war.
Main problem with atomic bombs was the nuclear fallout that tainted everything (literally the whole frikkin planet) for over half a century.
Same thing happened with the chernobil nuclear power plant when it detonated...
Backing? He said the life of 1 ally is worth more than 110,000 Japanese civilians. The insanity of that claim proves my assertion with no further effort from me.
Hah, you're just playing with semantics now. Answer my question. Why is the life of 1 person worth more than the lives of 110,000 people?

The funny thing is, out of those three East Asian nations, Korea was always historically the defensive one, we were content with chilling at just our peninsula, and a few outlying islands. Then the Chinese were all trying to make that part of Asia (and some of Korea at certain times) their own, then the Mongols conquered China, the Chinese fought back for their independence, and then Japan had to join in in the 1900s to WWII.
So we can now say that the atom bombs were just to avenge Pearl Harbor?

Yep that is pretty screwed up! I guess the test results could be considered valuable but can't say the ends justified the means.
Still though, shockingly few people are even aware that Japan invaded China at all, and even less are aware that they massacred millions of Chinese civilians.
