Who is your favorite contemporaneous world leader and why?

My personal favorite is probably President Obama considering the job he's done and currently is doing despite all of the difficulties that come along with the presidency. Compared to his past predecessors, he's certainly far more competent. He's defusing the Syrian situation as much as it possibly can be, and he has also managed to set a long-term path to avoid another war in the Middle East, this time with Iran. The economy is also doing tremendously better (both in the U.S. and globally) as a result of his policy vision. This isn't a popular opinion, but the truth is seldom popular.

Putin. Russia's been too long without an eccentric dictator.

Ian Khama, president of botswana. In southern africa where the leaders are usually pretty confused about anything other than raking in taxes this guy actually has a vision beyond digging stuff out of the ground as that won't last forever.

I have no favorite leader because I prefer not to be lead.

Favorite how? Doing the 'best' or most hilariously newsworthy?

Putin topless on a moose is always entertaining.

Basic Camp fire, words don't exist to describe all it has done for humanity. If we ever have one world government, basic campfire should be the one leading us towards a brighter future.
Seriously though, none cause I dislike politicians of all kinds unless bill counts as a world leader I love bill despite his creation becoming an evil corporation.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the list with a header containing "world" and "leader"?? WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Nice joke.

About topic, none of the them are world leader imo but if there is one who deserves it less than any living on the planet, that's Erdogan...

Erdogan was alright in my book until he lost his mind with the recent corruption scandal in Turkey, with the sacking of police officers.

He was never alright. He has been promoting radicalization of Islam and neo ottomanism for years. Just a few weeks ago he made a speech threatening the territorial integrity of the balkans.

On topic. Most of the people on your list suck.

My list is composed of primarily the G20, so, that just means that most of the world's most powerful/influential/well-known leaders "suck."

I reckon most of the EU and the United States would see the rise of a neo-Ottoman regime and the re-enslavement of the Balkans as a good thing, considering all the support Turkey's gotten over the years.

The rise of a neo-Ottoman regime would change the world if they unified the entire Middle East. It'd pose a significant threat to American hegemony, especially if Pakistan entered its nuclear umbrella into the equation.

Jalal Talabani seems like a man of integrity with an interesting and commendable history and political track-record. Plus, I just adore the beautiful irony of a pluralist, progressive and socialist Kurd now leading the country that Saddam Hussein used to hold hostage.

Sure call me when Iran likes the Turks or any middle eastern country or if they can agree on which version of Islam is the right one.

Obama inherited a turd, so I don't think he deserves as much flak as he gets, but he's still a pretty big cunt.

Merkel or Putin, I can't decide.

Merkel for me, can't really explain why as I'm dutch so I don't get to see the every day to day stuff she does but she comes across as competent and a woman who gets stuff done.

Putin. I disagree with pretty much most of his political view, but I mean c'mon. He's a beast, and he doesn't give a flying duck.
