Times will get harder. Costs for things will go up a noticeable amount dropping standard of living.

There will be a coup attempt in North Korea. While it will fail, the unraveling of North Korea will continue at an accelerated rate.

The Syrian Civil War will not quite end, but by the end of 2014 the secular/moderate faction will have been destroyed, and instead it will have turned into an open proxy war between Iran and the Gulf Arab states.
