    CPU cooler

Hey guys, I've recently overclocked my i7 2600k to 3.8ghz as I'd like a bit more performance out of it. Problem is, I've still got the stock cooler so it's pushing it a bit and it's the most I can really get without achieving ridiculous temps. I'm wondering if there's any cpu coolers I can buy that will still fit it since it's relatively old now. I'm not very good with components and such so any help is appreciated.

    Cheers ;>

How high are you looking to overclock? Also budget ?

Not really sure, maybe 4.2-4.4. I wasn't hoping to spend a bomb, but I'll see what people find. Not sure what the prices are like for cpu coolers.

    Noctua NH-C14 140mm x 2 SSO CPU Cooler

Is what I use on my i7. It's consistently rated as one of the best air coolers on the market. It's pricey and very big but it gets the job done when OC'ing.
All the Noctua coolers are a good choice.

A 212 EVO would easily handle that.

I've been using the 212 on two different processors for years now with decent overclocks and never had any issues other than one of the fan bearings getting noisy but it was a quick and easy replacement.

Plus is a better value imo. Fans on the evo are quieter at idle, but the fan on the + is quieter at load (more important imo). I know the heatpipes have a slight redesign on the EVO but i dont see it being worth 5-10 bucks more.

I'm interested in this one and the Evo, but aren't they really big and might not fit in my case?

Thanks for the replies so far.

Do you have a mid or micro atx case?

I would definitely go with the EVO over the Noctua, just because it's silly to spend $90 on a cooler to get a Sandy cpu to 4.4. Spend that much when you wanna crank that sucker up to 4.8+

This is my case, if you can't easily tell from that then I'll start measuring ;D

    Cheers again.
