Thinking of New Year's Eve alone

    Hey

Ive been going out(night clubs) every new years eve since I was 18, now im 24 and it's always been boring, don't really know why.

So was thinking of doing this new years eve alone with really good food, couple of good movies, some good drinks and just chillout. Go out on my balcony around 12 to view the fireworks and just thinking about what I wanna do this coming year. Then for a change wake up tomorrow not hangover like crazy wishing I was dead.

So anyone else being alone on this day?

    Cheers

I did this a few times (but not today) and it isn't that bad. New year's eve may suck because of too much expectation. It has to be an awesome night, too much planing, too much hype lead to disappointment.

That's also why i keep it simple now. A few friends, a good meal and some champagne.

I've actually spend the last 2 years alone - always eaten with family but from there we've pretty much just gone our separate ways. I'm like you 24, but would actually like to go out for once again on New Years. Sadly early placement of my exams kinda forbids me to do so (fuck the university for placing them on the 2nd and the 3rd)

Nope. Heading to Clapham to get on it with my pals. I'm expecting shenanigans and a good story to come of this like every new year.

I am not going to go out neither for new years. I am an old f*ck these days haha. Just going to get drunk at my friends place with some good food, music, watching the fireworks, bitching that we didn't win the lottery etc.

Avoid Vodka Revolutions & Inferno like the plague if you value your health.

I'm in the same seat as you OP, was planning on going out tonight, but fuck it. I rather watch Games of Thrones while drinking a couple of beers. My mother invited me home to them for some "Bingolotto" so I maybe do that. New Year's eve has always been a dissapointment anyways.

Gone are the clubbing days for me too. Getting too old.

No more MDMA, alcopops and Dance music anymore.

Being alone is definitely better than being a night club on new years. It's fun for a while, but sometimes good food, a good movie and a good sleep are a lot better.

If you want to be surrounded by a ton of assholes, go out clubbing. If you want good company, go spend time with your friends. If you want the best company, be alone.

I've done it both ways. I actually like to stay at home with just your closest friends drinking, talking, doing various fun activities.

New Year's Eve in a club is pretty much the same as any other night in a club, except with 3 times more people stuffed into the same size room (and the bar/bathroom/cloakroom).

    Rather do something different now.

I remember one time my wife and I decided it would be more enjoyable to skip the drinking and partying stuff and just have a quiet night. We actually had more fun that night than any other new years. Imo, it really depends on how you feel when you get up in the day. Like for me, today I'm really tired so I'll probably take it easy and have an early(12ish) bedtime.

Sounds like a nice quiet New Years. I'll be hosting about 30 people at my house. I hope no one pees on the couch, again.

It's better to spend a nice quiet New Year and go to bed early than to end up in jersey shore reject club where DJ D-Bag spins nonstop dubstep and takes no requests.

Gotta work tomorrow so no staying out tonight! And I love it that way, getting payed more and I never thought much of NYEs, although I've had a couple of great NYEs when I was younger. I'm 25 now.

Yes. Like every other year. Usually, I go to bed before midnight on that day anyway.

I've done it that way a 1-2 times, and I got to say it's real nice to just chill the fuck out. Not gonna do that this year, but also nothing crazy either, just having some fun with a couple of friends.
