Why are mages as muscular as warriors, DK's and Paladins? You would think with all the years of study to actually learn magic you would be withered, underdeveloped old people. Just doesn't make much sense.

Cuz they conjure themselves high protein biscuits. Game mechanics aside, they do use swords and probably engage in close combat more than it seems.
Cause we lift, bro. Those arcane books aren't exactly light.
Because while Warriors and Paladins keep on poking bosses with sharp things, Mages throw Fireballs while weightlifting.
Because this is a game with talking dragons, giants, demons, trolls & other stuff that makes 100% perfect sense.

Using magic takes a toll on your body. You need to be physically fit so you can endure it.
Do you have any idea how hard you need to throw a chunk of ice to let it deal 300k damage?
conjure muscle, simple
i have to throw so many icelances every day, how am I not entitled to my muscles? and in s11 warriors were bending me daily hence my 6pack
Stephen Hawking aside, keeping a physically fit body is proven to help develop the brain. Besides, all casters are experts at running away from the big scary things, so they NEED top condition! :P
IDK, I CBA to walk outside of Shrine to mount up. I just teleport out there.
Just think how much stuff is in your bags. Every class needs those muscles just to walk around!
I'm sure if wow had more character models, you'd get the stereotype you seek. That said, let's be honest and use a real life parallel for a moment. There are tons of guys in the world who don't have demanding jobs that are very muscular and fit. Why would this be any different?
cause im real life im pretty aesthetic so i want my character to be as aesthetic as me.
#1 fire mage US. u mirin'?

Maybe not WoW-lore wise, but Mages/Wizards are known to have some level of close combat training. While we're not all that strong, we've been known to enchant our swords, staves, and daggers with elements such as fire, lightning, or frost (in the same way Enhancement Shamans do, except ours works with schools of magic, not nature).
There's no need to take the "THIS IS A GAME SO IT'S NOT REALISTIC" approach. We're just poking fun, but I'd imagine Mages would have some amount of physical training in a time of war.
In a not-quite-relevant-but-still-fairly-relevant instance, when you graduate high school/college, you have to take classes you won't exactly use in your life, such as Social Studies or Trigonometry. While Math and History are important, knowing what the Pythagorean Theorem is or who Nikola Tesla was (who was an awesome guy that schools SHOULD be teaching about...) won't exactly make you better at your job, but it's still mandatory to take such courses to pass through school.
So where's my fat-ass-who-plays-video-games-all-day option?
Still wondering why I play this game.
I'm a Rogue and I also made a spreadsheet for the Order Hall that is updated for BfA.
