Do you think GC went to Wildstar like the rest of the development team?

DO you think GC is going to Wildstar like many of the other WOW dev team. I have heard rumors that 17 people have left WOW for Wildstar.

No one else who matters went to Wildstar.

For his sake, I hope he didn't as the game won't last more than a year before it has to reevaluate its model.

He also claimed "after working on WoW so long any other MMO would be unceremonious" or something to that effect.

And you have played wildstar ? Knowing how the game is ? I have. And i can tell you one thing now. It wont go f2p in year. That i can guarantee you

I strongly doubt that. Wildstar wont live for long, sure, many will start it shortly after release, but, just like in case of The Old Republic, maaany will quit after 1-3 months. It's inevitable.

I think he went back to poking fish with a stick.

I have watched many videos of Wildstar including dev conversations, I think it has some legs. More so than anything else.

People said the same thing about Star Wars and Tera.
    They were mistaken.

Unfortunately its not necessarily because the games aren't well made, its just because no one wants to pay to play a game monthly any more.
Wow loses subs rapidly, but its not because people are choosing to spend their money elsewhere.

The pay to play model is dead, and any game that launches with it now is digging their own grave.

I'm suprised we haven't heard of his new job yet, unless he just wants to keep it to himself

Agreed, my friends and I were searching last night trying to dig something up, and really surprised we couldn't.

I have a feeling he is going to be a part of a studio that hasn't had a public release of its title yet, thus he can't speak about the studio or his involvement.

This is actually quite accurate guesstimate. All of my friends that would like to play or try out an MMO simply don't want to pay a monthly fee, me including.

with the money he will have made from working at blizzard, + any stocks and shares he will have been give / bought. He can afford to poke fish for a very, very long time.

Well their model is kinda not exactly p2p its more like if you have lots of time you can pay with in game money.

I would imagine GC got picked up by a big developer who is currently paying some smart attorneys to unwind his non-compete agreement.

Do you have a source for "rumors that 17 people have left WOW for Wildstar."?

  17. #17
Can we point out. That the 17 people. Left Blizzard in 2005. From their Wiki. "WildStar development started in 2005, after 17 former members of Blizzard Entertainment founded Carbine Studios"

I wonder how they would this would work considering how easy it is to scam with a credit card by just reporting it stolen. Anyone can do it and not get their account banned. I know people who are rich in wow by doing it.

If this was a good model i think blizz would have done it already a long time ago.
