Evolution works on a much longer timescale than societal or technological change. Our digestive tracts are in some ways still adapting to the existence of agriculture, never mind the changes of the last <50 years.

As such, my guess is that we will be able to rewrite our own genetics and render genetic selection irrelevant long before any significant evolution due to modern conditions can take place.

That entirely depends on the timeframe we're talking about here. Humans as a species are getting bigger and bigger. The average height and weight have both constantly gone up just within the past hundred or so years. And then, to make matters worse, people in western countries are getting so fucking obese that they're getting ready to explode. If it becomes the social norm to be that large, it will have an adverse affect on us, evolutionarily speaking.

But when you factor in our increasing reliance on technology, I can certainly see us losing some things. We aren't needing to be as hardy as we were back before we had machines to do everything for us, so, over possibly thousands of years, yes, I believe we will become smaller, more frail beings. Nature and evolution are all about efficiency, not waste - If we suddenly don't need something, a body part, a way of thinking, anything that we use for survival, it will eventually breed it out of us. Or if our lifestyle changes to a point where we need something we don't have, it too will eventually adapt. Maybe we turn feral, run around on all fours, and eat meat directly from our prey. At some point, our children may just be born with sharper teeth, better eye sight, adjusted limbs to allow us to hunt better. That's just how it works.

Meteoric: There can be rapid change, only in a frew generations. in Africa who was hardest affected by the HIV, people are more resistant from getting HIV. Remember this do not make them immune, but it have a huge impact if they lets say 50% less possibility to catch the disease then exposed for it.

But someone who is both intelligent and attractive has a better chance of using those environmental factors to their own success. That gives smart, beautiful people an evolutionary advantage.

The counterargument, of course, is that more successful people tend to have fewer children. But then the argument is "smart people breed less", as you brought up, not the stereotype of smart people being less physically attractive.
