I kinda forgot to watch this last night. I did watch an episode of Friday Night Lights though, so i did get some Taylor Klishp in. It was the episode where Riggins helped Tara's mom get a job at Buddy's car dealership, Jason asked hot ass Minka to marry him, and The Smash's moms found his steroid stash.
Oh, and they won the game, cuz... you know, Matty Seracin is like Tom got damn Brady in the clutch.
Wait what? 2 episodes and he dies. That sucks. I hope the spoiler above is true and he lives. (but how? is he Superman?)
He is wearing his vest, obviously. He will be alive in the next episode.
If he had the right plating it probably wouldn't penetrate but no amount of plating would stop the blunt force trauma that would result, which would be pretty nasty at point blank range. Even if he does survive he's going to have some serious internal bleeding at best.
Oh the vest isn't going to allow him to just get right back up, but shotguns consist of buckshot with not a lot of armor penetration besides the force of it. He'll definitely sustain some injuries, but he isn't dead.
Ugh the spoken word thing for the intro was annoying. I actually used to watch Season 1's because I enjoyed it and the best part about True Blood was the opening (I watched it all, but god that show quickly fell off the rails). I actually skipped it on my HBOGo for the second episode because it was just so bad.
Well it was bad, in my opinion anyway.
Watched the first two episodes, pretty good so far.
Any wild predictions so far? We had a couple get close to the mark in s1.
I'm going to guess the motorcycle cop is a crazy motherfucker and kills someone/himself by the end of the season. It seems obvious (?) to me that he's in the closet (viagra to sleep with a latina that hot? Making comments about a "fag at the bank" who he wanted to punch in the face for no reason? Eyeing up that obvious male prostitute from his hotel window?
Somehow, I want to say that sleazeball mayor is somehow involved in the end game, but that could be obvious misdirection (like the pastor from season 1). It might make some sense that he wants to somehow run Frank (Vince Vaughn) out of town for some reason. Plus, was the missing girl from McAdams case the girl in the club that Vince was grilling about the secret sex house?
I just wanna know who the raven mask is at this point lol.
I don't think the Mayor necessarily wants to run Frank out, but certainly not happy with his kickback situation. I don't think the mayor is anything more than an example of how corrupt Vinci is as a whole. I can't help but think that maybe the big industry corporation (totally forget the name right now) has more involvement. Maybe more connections to the Russians.
Just like in Season 1 everything is going to be connected somehow. The motorcycle cop is 100% a self-hating closeted homosexual. I agree with the other poster who said that the larger company they've mentioned will have something to do with this as well. That much federal grant money on the table, people do some messed up shit for it.
Season 2 has started off shit
Season 2 is currently mediocre.
Far too many characters, with little introduction or information about them given. I have no idea what's going on and Farrels scene at the end of episode 2 is purely for shock value.
Willing to keep going with it, but it has nothing on Season 1 so far.
And the titles song sucks.
He wore no vest..3rd episode was weak. Hopefully it gets better.
Title song does suck ass. I'm enjoying Season 2, but I think I'm one of the few refraining from comparing Seasons 1 & 2 as I look at them as two completely different shows that happen to have the same name.
And those that say it's weak, we're finally starting to see the link between certain people and the clues starting to show up as to who killed Caspere and why. Shrug, I think people are looking for something just like Season 1, and well, that's not this.
Also, good write up here about possibilities for the rest of the season. If any of this is true, I like it:

He clearly said it was bean bag bullets, similar to what the police use in riots. This was a huge hint as Ray made a point to say "You know, like the ones a COP would use." My money is on the Lieutenant from Vinci PD

I'm really curious as to why you're back for season 2 if you thought season 1 was bad. Most of us are hoping that season 2 can be 70-80% as good as season 1, Mcconaughey and Harrelson are much better actors than Kitsch, Vaughn, and I would have said Ferrel before this season started but he's actually been surprisingly great so far. Of course McAdams is cooking, but it's a male dominated show so she doesn't get the attention she deserves.
