Any MMOs out or soon to be with real PvP?

Any current MMOs or anything to be released either this year or maybe next year that will have real PvP and be a PvP focused game?

What I am looking for:
Hardcore where no place is safe escept maybe towns
Corpse looting
RvR similar to GW2 and DAoC
Something similar to guild warfare and order vs chaos from Ultima Online
No bitchy players wanting free loot and ruining the game


Its been probably 7 years since I actually played a game with PvP that was enjoyable where I could just do it for hours on end and never get bored. Are there any MMOs out there with what Im looking for? Im starting to think this new generation of bads wanting to be carried and spoon fed has permanently ruined the MMO genre.

Star Citizen and Elder Scrolls Online is the closest you can get but it won't hit on all of your points. Camelot Unchained is another one but won't be out for a while. You might also be interested in Albion Online, which has a lot of UO elements, and hits on most of your points.

Camelot Unchained is the only one that comes to mind. To some degree, Archeage. Neither is available yet for play in the West.

Age of Wushu is a fairly new sandbox MMO with a large emphasis on PVP. It's a good game but some what obtuse and difficult to learn at first.

There is EvE Online as well. Though that is very different from DAOC. And it seems you want DAOC 2.0.

Nothing else I can think fits what you are looking for, OP. Your options will always be slim in the MMO genre.

You might be interested in Darkfall: Unholy Wars. It is a followup to the original Darkfall Online which was also focused on great pvp. Not a huge community, but when the action goes down, it is a blast (or at least it was in the original DFO.) I myself haven't tried out Unholy Wars but as far as I am aware it fits what you are looking for.

I'm not sure of any current or soon to be released games that meet all or a good portion of your requests, but I'm not sure "bitchy players wanting free loot and ruining the game" is something you or any Developers can control.

Play Eve, seriously. It's the most hardcore pvp/griefing game with a big community you are going to get. Very niche, but the devs actually support the game.

The likelihood of having a AAA anytime in the near future with those features is incredibly small.

Pathfinder Online will have corpse looting and stuff. No idea if the game is PvP focused or not.

Firefall just announced they will have a massive no mans land zone where high quality resources and loot spawn.

Armies (guilds) can make treaties, back stab one another, ect. Some players may go out there just to hunt other players or to try and solo for loot.

When army specialization comes into play, you will probably see more industrial/crafting guilds hiring PMCs to protect them while they work.

It should be done within the year.

Wizardry online. You can kill other players even in towns but you become a criminal and other players will hunt you down. Perma death and corpse looting ( not sure about the later one )

Are you sure you only want MMOs ? Because Forge is pretty good also http://store.steampowered.com/app/24...snr=1_7_15__13 has potential to become a good PvP game.

The problem with a lot of these free to play or "indie" mmos is that they are usually full of bugs, shitty mechanics, balance issues, etc. I'm right there with the OP and would love to play a great PvP MMO. There is a ton of potential that has not tapped and maybe it never will be. I can't be bothered playing something like Darkfall. While it is conceptually cool it is mechanically awful.

There needs to be a big budget game made by a good developer like blizzard to do this, but I doubt blizzard ever will. At the very least differentiate PvP and PvE servers more substantially.

Yeah...

The problem is that it is a niche audience that wants this so there's no one who would put up a AAA budget for it.

Your best bet is indie games / AA games / kickstarters.

MMOs are mostly pve centric games with added pvp aspect, a mini game in fact. Pvpers are minority in gamers world and are treated
as such.
