I can round this thread up pretty well me thinks. Nobody knows exactly what this is. It could be a lifeform, it could be your grandmother from another dimension. It could be a huuuuge underground city with the tip of a weirdly shaped flagpole sticking out of the ground. It could be a Donut from another galaxy. It could be the Death Star that has been shot through its centre by a Gamma-Ray Burst. It could be an optical illusion. No matter what it is, nobody, not one of us has the right of debunking it and saying it's a rock. Nor can we say that it's life. All we can do is wait and see until further examinations have been in place to study the object. I think, though, that it's a rock that flung off the wheels.

The more I think about it, the more his idea seems logical. No other rock looks like this, its pretty safe to say it seems unique. Something felt off about it.

This is exactly why sites like "I fucking love science" which constantly botch scientific headlines by trying to make them sound more interesting should be shut down. Because it turns into stupid half-witted discussions about big foot and aliens.

#1. NASA has a perfectly sound theory for how the rock got there that follows the suggested methods of hypothesization put forward by Sir William of Ockham (Hint. It has nothing to do with aliens.)
#2. The ONLY way it actually differs from the surrounding rocks is that it has a higher than normal concentration of manganese. You probably don't even know what manganese is, but it has nothing to do with aliens.
#3. Contrary to the "jelly doughnut" analogy, the rock does not have a soft, sugary centre. The Jelly Doughnut analogy comes from the point of dark colouration visible in the centre of the surface rock, which is possibly caused by the hypothesis NASA has put forward about how the rock got there. (Hint. it also has nothing to do with aliens).
#4. The rock would have had to travelled through the air to that location, such as if it was flung by the wheel with the broken actuator that opportunity drags around on the ground while turning about. If it were a martian rock monster it would travel across the ground, and it would have been obvious how it got there. (flying rock monsters on mars is unlikely, due to the thin atmosphere, which is why it is so hard to land probes on mars in the first place)

    EDIT:
Top comment on the page about the lawsuit

    "Justsomedude • 3 hours ago
Better be careful when we investigate it, it might have vaccines in it and give the rover autism"

    Now that's funny.

No you are, haha. Actually you are not, now move along and go derail some other thread.

Srsly there should be an international law that says you can lock ppl like this into a mental institution after something like that.
