    Abstract

Pesticides associated to genetically modified foods (PAGMF), are engineered to tolerate herbicides such as glyphosate (GLYP) and gluphosinate (GLUF) or insecticides such as the bacterial toxin bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between maternal and fetal exposure, and to determine exposure levels of GLYP and its metabolite aminomethyl phosphoric acid (AMPA), GLUF and its metabolite 3-methylphosphinicopropionic acid (3-MPPA) and Cry1Ab protein (a Bt toxin) in Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. Blood of thirty pregnant women (PW) and thirty-nine nonpregnant women (NPW) were studied. Serum GLYP and GLUF were detected in NPW and not detected in PW. Serum 3-MPPA and CryAb1 toxin were detected in PW, their fetuses and NPW. This is the first study to reveal the presence of circulating PAGMF in women with and without pregnancy, paving the way for a new field in reproductive toxicology including nutrition and utero-placental toxicities."

another study to add to the list:

Some how I knew this would be one of your threads

While I would have to pay 36 dollars to know for sure... (Are GMO foods putting your fetus at risk!? Take my word, or pay 36 dollars to find out for yourself!)

In order to actually establish a link to GMOs the study would have required a group that was on a non GMO diet. Which it did not. Therefore one can't say for sure whether or not the pesticide exposure is due to the consumption of GMO foods, or due to other environmental factors.

So... as you linked at the bottom of your post - there's already a thread (also started by you) on this topic.

Why exactly does every study you come across need its own thread? Just add this to the list on your original post and contain the ranting to one place. People will be happy to keep pointing out all the problems with your argument over there.

"To our knowledge, this is the first study to highlight the presence of pesticides-associated genetically modified foods in maternal, fetal and nonpregnant women's blood. 3-MPPA and Cry1Ab toxin are clearly detectable and appear to cross the placenta to the fetus. Given the potential toxicity of these environmental pollutants and the fragility of the fetus, more studies are needed, particularly those using the placental transfer approach [41]. Thus, our present results will provide baseline data for future studies exploring a new area of research relating to nutrition, toxicology and reproduction in women. Today, obstetric-gynecological disorders that are associated with environmental chemicals are not known. This may involve perinatal complications (i.e. abortion, prematurity, intrauterine growth restriction and preeclampsia) and reproductive disorders (i.e. infertility, endometriosis and gynecological cancer). Thus, knowing the actual PAGMF concentrations in humans constitutes a cornerstone in the advancement of research in this area."

Not exactly the paragon of certainty in terms of establishing anything substantial or certain. You might want to wait until there's more research.

Also, almost 3 years old doesn't even come close to constituting a new study in scientific research.

Well, I for one am glad for every new (and yes, even if it's not entirely new, it might be new to many of us) study highlighting just how uncertain the safety of GMO-food is. So thanks OP!

Here's a question. Have they detected the herbicides and pesticides used for non-GMO crops, too? I'm guessing the answer is Yes. So basically if its in the environment its in the mother's, too. Of course, if could be that Quebecer's are just filthy people that don't properly clean their vegetables before they eat them, too...
