    Say NO to internet censorship

    Say No to Internet Censorship

Leaders from 12 countries are about to lock into place binding Internet censorship rules through an agreement called the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Leaked documents reveal that the TPP will make the Internet more censored, expensive, and policed.[1]

Experts say, “kids could be sent to jail for downloading” and whole families could be kicked off the Internet.[2]

Send TPP decision makers these three demands now by filling out the form on this page before it's too late.

This looks like our last chance to speak out against the huge damage the TPP will do to free expression online. Please send this crucial message by filling out this form now.

Bwahahahahaha, yeah ok, I'd love to see them try. Unless internet savvy people are writing this, there's no way in hell they could enforce this.

Not really a secret and could've sworn this has been known about. It will as always "as other internet things have" be struck down because no leadership is dumb enough to actually allow it to pass.

There are more free thinking people who would not follow these crack head rules. If it because a case that they were arresting people for expression of freedom, accusing people of committing a crime where there is none committed, and taking away there freedom of expression, the public would not fold, and it would pressure them into collapse.

More people will stand against it, and even if it passes, will keep standing against it, and find ways around it.

Edit: The ironic thing, for everything people have said against google, its google who are fighting against this law.

Kind of good to know, despite what they do sometimes, that google at least wants us to have freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

tbh I don't think these things ever make much of a difference when it comes to fighting against corporate powers. Any fight would take years to overcome.

They don't give a shit about us or what we have to say.

Do you really think a little online petition is going to stop these people from doing what they want to do? Citizens have been fighting the expansion of power since the beginning and all you have to do is look around to see how well that's going for them.

It was only a matter of time. The internet has become too powerful; the spread of knowledge is too fast and easy; access to truth and information is too readily available. It's harder than ever to keep people in the dark now and this works against the interests of those in power.

They've long since taken over the news we get from the television and newspapers. Next up, is our precious internet. Say goodbye now because if they want to censor it, they'll succeed; With or without our consent.

Oh, and if we put up too much of a fight, they'll just manufacture a tragic attack through the internet to convince us of the "dangers" of non-censorship. At that point, we'll be too afraid for our safety to argue and we'll willingly accept whatever terms they give us.

We stopped SOPA. We can stop this. Get off your knees.

This is actually pretty bad when combined with the Net Neutrality agreement that just went through the courts. FCC is no longer able to prevent censorship amongst ISP's and ISP's are going to be able to bundle package their internet so that poor people are not going to be able to pay for full access to the internet. This is corporate takeover of the internet. I hope more people start realizing this.

Internet censorship? Never had any problem with it or even seen it.

SOPA, PIPA, ACTA... it's all the same thing. They're after control over the internet in some way, shape or form and they'll eventually have it. This recent attempt potentially being the most expansive yet and they're trying hard to keep it under wraps.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't try to resist this, because they should. I'm simply stating what has historically always been the case: that those in power get what they want. We might stall them here and there, but eventually they'll grow impatient. A few laws here and amendments there and it's done before you can say "takeover".

I'm just setting my expectations to a more realistic level. I'd like nothing more than to be proven wrong.

You can only push people so far before they push back. If they tried to control the flow of information, expression, and knowledge and plunge people back into the dark ages, well people won't accept it, and these retarded laws will be revoked, even if they fall into place.

Its a fight, and it doesn't end, just because you win one victory doesn't mean you can rest for long before the next threat to freedom comes along.

I'm right up there with protecting children and stopping the spread of things like child porn, ultra violent videos and hate campaigns online, but these fucktards want to lump everything we do in with those ones I just mentioned, say you want to download a song or a movie, or watch hot adults getting it on, or discuss openly a political debate with people. TTP, Sopa and the rest want to lump us all into the same camp with rapists and child porn makers.

BTW people, heres another petition against this. You might as well sign this too, if more petitions from all over come across then its more people from different directions.

I hope it passes. This way all you socialists and communists and collectivists on here get exactly what you asked for. More regulation. And the devastating effects this has on your freedom might be enough for you to become a libertarian. When will you realize it's Government that is the problem not greedy individuals. You need to cut off the head of the snake. As a Libertarian to me this is just as bad as EPA regulations that allow the federal government to take land from a person because of an "endangered" species was seen on there land. Or the FAA which " keeps planes from crashing into one another" which is bs. The federal minimum wage Or " Obamacare". It's all BS, that is aimed to take freedom from someone else. You need to stand up for others freedoms as well as your own or when it's time to stand up for yours noone's left.

There's no communists on this forum. Basically you want this to go through because you want to spite us. That's awfully pathetic.

You'd be surprised, current Australian government is really, really that stupid and they're one of those countries that is not releasing this agreement to the public because they know how damaging it is to our freedoms.

No, it's awfully ironic when someone threatens your freedom you want support. But when the shoes on the other foot it's all " regulation is good because it keeps greedy people from exploiting poor people".

Did you know that the US makes up only 5% of the world's population, but it has 25% of the world's incarcerated population? Has like 7 times the incarceration rate per capita of its peers.

Not sure if serious. No smart government would try to pass an agreement to allow mining companies to dredge the Great Barrier Reef, which would make the freaking entire ecosystem unstable that took thousands of years to develop. Now there's this Trade Agreement? Why isn't the government telling it's people? Because they know it's corrupt.
