Warriors did indeed need nerfs, but this was simply not the way to go about it.
Out of our plethora of CC they target the one we have had for 9 years, Blizzard shouldn't change the fundamentals.
If they don't like our stun capabilities they should change how stormbolt and shockwave are on different talent tiers.
If they don't like how much mobility we have, nerf juggernaut.
This is a very awkward change and its almost as similar as back in Cataclysm when they scrapped intercept for arms and increased the charge stun duration while putting it on a DR, when that happened almost 3 years ago, they had to change the charge stun back, because of the DR it would make targets immune to stuns and make charge pretty much worthless.
Again, I get warriors need nerfs, but nerfing charge which is a core ability which has worked as it does now for over 9 years (save a couple changes like that previously mentioned cata change and in wrath when they made it usable in combat) is quite silly. Alot of people who don't play warriors have no idea how badly this can potentially fuck us.
Change that is a long time coming.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutesOr should I?
Glad to see a Warrior being reasonable in here.
Also, it's just the PTR. If you folks want what you think is a more sensible adjustment, you're gonna need to craft some sensible arguments and present them. I'd recommend to try to repurpose the rest of the discussion in this thread for how to tone down Warrior cc and/or mobility in a way you can stomach, because one way or another it's going to happen, and right now it looks like it's going to be the charge/warbringer change. If you want it done a different way, make your case. It is just PTR but we don't know how long until it goes live.
I am the one who knocks ... because I need your permission to enter.
if this nerf is going to fly, they need to make warbringer better. maybe if warbringer dropped charge to a 15 second cd and kept the 1.5s stun that's on its own dr. Would be a slight nerf to the live version of juggernaut, but at least our gap closer wouldn't cause dr on better stuns and would allow us to focus charge interrupt in pvp.
Ok, now lets look at the other classes besides warrior.
On another note, good luck chasing a resto druid!
In exchange for charge losing its stun, they should make a glyph (or baseline) for heroic leap to knockdown enemy players when the warrior lands.
Nice job bro. Really showing your vast knowledge of the PvE side of the game with this post. You are telling Warriors that they need to lose huge amouts of burst for a single target stun or a godly cleave cd for a possible aoe one. Just another reason why they need to make spells behave differently in PvE and PvP.
I am not sure if I should laugh or cry at clueless people that claim nerfing charge stun was the correct approach to reduce warrior control.
Moreover I just can't understand, which developer came up with this shinny idea, that even the most clueless community trolls never mentioned.
Laugh or cry?
*Hastily picks up nerf bucket*
*Some drops fall out and land on charge*
"Ahh fuck it, i'll clean it up some other time"
*stomps off to nerf what is actually needing to be nerfed*
^ The impression i get when i see changes like this
wrong way to nerf warrior control. Make charge stun DR with shockwave/stormbolt, leave the stun on charge alone. Remove blitz glyph
The only arguments I've seen for not changing it is Galakras and Chasing druids....
Obviously it needs a change lol, although it is a shame that so many guilds will be stuck on Galakras now that warriors charge doesnt stun.
Cya fotm rerollers.
