    Hey guys, whats the best processor I can get for 300$? Mainly for editing videos/casual gaming (WoW)

    Well, i7 4770k would be the best option. But..... there are other questions that must be asked. Like are you just asking this for the sake of asking? Or do you plan on buying a CPU? Because you can't just buy a CPU and expect to use it in your current system. More information on your side is needed.

    Not only that, but how much video editing? Some people think they should spent an extra $100 on an i7 for their twice a year AMV's or something.

    Worth noting if you have a MicroCenter nearby, the i7-4770k is $70 cheaper than Amazon - only $250. You also get $30 off most of their motherboards when you buy a processor.

    Since you didn't mention motherboards, remember that the i-4xxx series (fourth generation intel core i processors) require a new type of socket (LGA 1150) that no motherboard older than mid-2012 would have supported.

    If you're planning on getting the latest and greatest in the world of processors, you may need a new motherboard.
