[TV] So who else wishes the Olympics didn't ruin the schedule for everything on TV?

Basically topic. Most shows are just barely back from their mid-season break for the holidays and now they're taking another 2-3 week break for the Olympics because obviously everyone has to watch that. Good times, except for everyone who could give a shit about winter sports.

The Olympics can kiss my ass, never watched them, never will.

I'm interested in Olympic Hockey and that's about it. Be interesting to see how the NHL players work with guys they're usually not teamed up with. That being said I don't watch much TV anyways.

NBC and ever network in the free world should not broadcast this winter olympics, and hell the Olympic committee should have pulled the plug after Russias homophobic politcal bullshit.

I'm actually glad there's a break. The blackhawks haven't been doing very well. Maybe with all the players they have in the olympics they'll get out of the funk they're in.

Following that logic, the olympics shouldn't be held in many, many countries. And certainly not in the US. The beauty of olympics is, that it gets above all the political BS that's been going on lately.

Doesn't everyone lose money on the Olympics? The host city, the networks that air it, the bastard love children conceived in the Athletes Village?

No real interest either. Also the fact that they keep giving the Olympics to underachiving shithole countries, when we inn western countries inn Europe or other more civilized countries could do it better without having to have a hightend security risk, and using billions for constructing new facilities.

I say; A joint Winter olympics inn Scandinavian countries if that could work.

Anywho...TV blows hard inn Denmark, so I don't loss out on much ;p Since I moved out this year I barely watched much TV - Tough Id miss it, but so far its okay...Got only a basic TV package where I live, but then also full TV package as WebTV via my ISP provider as a extrea service.

...So yea, aslong as I can sap abit around and watch the morning news, and possibely news later inn the day Im fine.

I like how this guy essentially calls Russia an underachieving shithole country and then follows up with him saying he's from Denmark.

Yeah it pisses me off. Take all the good shows off, to show an event that reeks of politicism and is always shown on tape delay so you already know who won before you watch it. Its asinine

But Netflix is all old stuff and reruns. They arent showing new episodes of current TV shows that havent aired like the networks should be doing. If people want to watch the Olympics, let them stream them online and leave my TV alone

Don't care for watching sports, but on the other hand i never use the tv either. Just downloading what i want to see. Haven't been restricted by a tv schedule for 6 years, except one show at every new year.

Maybe we do at 4AM or something because thats when the events happen but nobody is awake to see it. If they are going to broadcast the Olympics, then they should be held in the US every time so we can watch it live at a decent time

yep, i hate the way sports interrupts my television schedule

that's what sports channels are for, that's what sky+ are tivo are for, that's what "on demand" internet services are for.

i feel the same way about the olympics as i do about the superbowl, the NBA finals, the world cup, the european cup etc etc

Well, I really like sports so I'm not bothered one bit. I'm going to live for a good 60 years more if my genes follow my grandparents, so I'm sure I'll get to see all the TV I need.
