Looking for a new cpu fan w/heatsink

My ruby orb fan has busted. So Im looking for a new fan. I bought a dynatron P199 but my comp continues to overheat. Called dynatron and they said the fan isnt strong enough. Im look for any Suggestions for a fan my price range is 30-40 dollars. Im also added what i have in comp if that helps.

    Motherboard: EVGA 790i FTW
Processor: Intel 2 quad core Q6700
The socket type for my motherboard is LGA 775

    Are you overclocking it?

The Dynatron P199 is a 1U server rack fan... not designed for normal CPU cooling.. why were you looking at that, exactly?

No not overclocking it. It was one of two recommended to me. The guy that recommended to me works in IT. He was suprised that it was overheating

It IS a little surprising, but that fan is a dinky tiny thing... Not really designed for what it's being used on.

That said... The stock cooler ought to work fine.. What kind of temps are you seeing?

That sounds like either the CPU is having electrical problems, or the fan wasn't attached correctly.. Even a small thing like that should keep it before 93c.

I meant 'electrical' as in your CPU or board is damaged, causing it to overheat. If it isn't overclocked, it shouldn't be getting THAT hot under normal use.

Are you kidding me? Look at that thing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835114075
At 100% it has 15CFM, while spinning at 5k. The fan is actually bigger than the heatsink, you are effectively just blowing 15CFM at the processor, ofcourse it's overheating. You have been ripped off.

Return the fan if you can, and buy http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-...r-rr212e20pkr2
    It's superb cooler.

Edit: I reread, do you need just the fan or whole cooler?

    PM me weird stuff :3

Is form factor a matter at all? I'd imagine so if you went with a heatsink that was designed for server blades in the first place.

Cyrops i need a whole unit. I am sending back the P199 back today. I also looked at the unit you suggested my only concern is if will fit in my case.

Why not just get the normal stock cooler if it's a height concern?

Funny, i just bought that less than 2 weeks ago XD. I can approve that it works wonders. Had 76c+ before with a stock, now i get 46 max. Both during gaming.

I know you solved this and that's awsome but just a friendly reminder :P If someone "works in XXXX" doesn't really mean they know what the hell they are talking about.
    Double check all the things!
