I have nothing to hide but I value the concept of privacy and dignity for myself and those close to me. I'd quite readily disallow the government and any other organisation from tracking my every move. I loathe the idea that every man, woman and child is treated as a potential criminal in a society where many of those in charge of it are guilty of numerous scandals. They certainly shouldn't be exempt from the same treatment - and I believe that their tune would soon change if the government was forced into a state of transparency.

This is about privacy, and not being made suspicious simply for existing. It's a complete copout and strawman to say that people who would not go along with being spied on are automatically up to bad things. Presumably you also believe that all the people you know are out raping and murdering when you aren't looking?
