1st time building a computer, how did i do?

Looking to build a computer mainly for WoW but also plan on using it for AutoCAD and other 3D drafting apps. I have $1000 to spend $1100 if necessary. This is what I came up with on my own. Don't know if its overkill or too weak. How will it work out? Also must go through Newegg.

    CPU: Intel Core i5-3350P 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor $179.99
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $23.99
Motherboard: ASRock Z77M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
    Memory: Kingston XMP Blu Red Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $69.99
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $70.99
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card $195.66
Case: NZXT Vulcan Black MicroATX Mid Tower Case $75.98
Power Supply: NZXT HALE82-N 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply $39.99
    Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $16.99
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) $101.98
    Monitor: Asus VX229H 60Hz 21.5" Monitor $157.58
    Total: $933.14

Honestly, this is very nearly a 'back to the drawing board' setup.

The CPU is last generation, and slower, the board is designed for OC, but no OC CPU (and also last gen). The RAM is 1.65v.. You could get a better hard drive. There are larger monitors for the same price or cheaper.

This is a decent build but pushes past his budget when you add a monitor and only buy from newegg, as the op stated. I would probably switch the 4670k - 4670 and change the motherboard to a h87/h81.

Edit: Also look at the 760 as it competes with the R9 280x but at the price of the R9 270.

I missed the part about newegg, thouh a monitor could fit in there. $1100 is a tough budget to fit in all that stuff.

However, I wouldn't get the 4670. Just get the i3-4330 and save a bunch of money. Its very nearly the same performance as the 4670.

also need a monitor sized in the 21-23 range, brother has a 24" and it feels a bit too big for my liking.

not bad, monitor is very subjective, just like a case, ppl will wonder if u want a IPS or a TN panel. its all about what u want it to look like and how much you are looking to go above your budget.

this one is on sale at best buy.

Depending how much you use AutoCAD and other similar software you may want to reconsider the 24". I work on it daily on a 24" and at times doesnt seem big enough. Deal is with all the shortcuts, command lines, etc of the interface the actual drawing area is much smaller, more like a 20" or something.
