    Best class for mining/herb?

I love making gold in this game. It's fun as all hell. A long time ago in TBC I had every single profession capped out and made a *ton* of money doing so, and I'm totally interested in doing it now.

Here's the dilemma: For my needs I need 5 characters at max level. 3 of 5 will be max level: Paladin for healing main in PvE, Warrior for DPS main for PvP/Some PvE, and then a third character. This third character will float and do whatever, but the main purpose is gathering.

I have 4 characters maxed, and currently my gatherer is my shaman. I don't entirely like my shaman to be honest with you and I've been debating about getting another character to take their place, because why go farming if you hate playing the character?

The idea of a druid came into play and I don't like druids as it is -- the two characters I'm stuck with is a rogue for possible stealthing in WoD while farming and a DK or a monk for their insane solo potential. I feel like I would like DK the most, and the others are kinda 'meh' for me.

That all being said, does anyone think the possibility of a rogue or druid would be better for 'gathering', in other words mining/herbalism? Or should I just stick with a DK? I know this is kind of an odd question, but I've been told that a rogue and a druid are OP for stealthing around mobs just to get to a special node then get back up and mount away, but my thought is "Why stealth when I can probably just destroy every mob as well as encourage PvP 8)"

I would say that druid is probably best, mostly because of instant flight form and gathering without herbs without having to mount up again after.

Tauren Druid is the best race and class for gathering in the game by far

Druid. Especially tauren druid. The bastards can pick herbs while in flight form at record time. Node tagging introduced now though, so all is good.

If you're already collecting a node, then someone else can't take it from you. Like a non-tauren taking a herb, a tauren can't take it with their shorter cast time because it's tagged to you.

    There is only one.

It was such a fun experience herbing when there was no node tagging. It meant you could fly up to a herb someone had already dismounted at and herb it as they were in mid pick. They end up with nothing and you had already flown off. Boo blizz for changing it.

I bet you camped Huolon's tower spawn and use the censor to attack only your own faction's FP base, too.

People like you are what is wrong with this game.
    Cheerful lack of self-preservation

Druid by far. Between the stealth in cat form and the instant flight form, it is a no-brainer. And picking herbs in flight form speeds it up that much more.

I would have said druid, but after the new engineering mount I guess a paladin or dk would be better for the 20% mount speed.

Tauren Paladin with a Sky Golem is best for Herbs (works the same as a Druid, but faster travel).

Druid is good if you want to pick/mine without dismounting.
If you need bonus from mining/herbalism on any class then that class will ofc be good also.

Herb: Druid. But with Golem and gloves you can do it just as fast with any Class.
Mining: Hunter, pet to aggro mobs and FB to get out of combat.

I'd say paladin with skygolem, ideally Tauren paladin. If not then Tauren Druid.

Bonus of picking a rogue is (apart from stealth) crowd control. You can easily sap/blind mobs, get your node, and if you aggro, just vanish away...

And stealth might seem small, but imagine clearing your way through a cave to see all the mobs respawned when you want to go back to the exit. Just stealth and sap/shadowstep your way out unnoticed

I've always used a DK. Don't know why, but it's just something I've always done.

Druid. Tauren picks herbs faster and Nelf can shadowmeld+fly away if you happen to aggro.
