Troll berserking racial question

I just race changed to a troll and the berserking racial has me confused. When is the optimal time to use it in the opener? Does heroism change anything? Any cooldown worth macroing it into? Thanks ahead of the time for any help.

Stacking cooldowns that align conveniently is almost always a DPS increase. The exception to this tends to be spec-specific; you don't want to use Killing Spree under AR (most of the time), for example. The rest of the time, if multiple CDs are up, they tend to work for a multiplicative advantage. More haste is better for auto-attacks, shadow-blade enhanced autos, trinket enhanced-autos, attacks under vendetta, and whatever else have you.

There may be some breakpoint at which you should hold berserking for combat if you're not using shadow blades and are already energy capped, but that's all I can think of offhand. Otherwise, for a given # of uses, you'd actually prefer to stack it with other CDs.
