    Worth buying now?

Bored and need a new game. Did the new expansion make much of a difference? I never played the "vanilla" edition but heard it was pretty bad.

The game started out awful, not gonna lie. But the team listened and lately, with the release of patch 2.XX, it honestly feels the way it should have felt from the start. I plan to preorder the expansion largely due to my experience in the new patch compared to launch. I was one of the people that played for a couple months and said to hell with it.

Try it out for free, my wife played it yesterday, and enjoyed it much. If you spend much time on D3 forums (not this particular forum, but all over internet) where people whine about everything, then your opinion can be biased and you can enjoy it less than you could

I loved Vanilla personally due to the challenges of beating the game while it was hard. So long as you know when it's time to move on and not get mad because the game didn't stay fun forever! Game is a lot more balanced now though, appeals to a wider audience and is generally a lot easier (a lot of people didn't like it simply because it was too hard), legendary items drop often and are for the most part very useful and relevant to your class.

It's probably the best it's ever been in the overall view, personally I think it's a great game and always has been but there will still be people who are not happy that the game is stops being fun after they play it for 600 hours straight.

This pretty much. I agree wholeheartedly. I also think Diablo 3 is a great game, and I personally also had a lot of fun, and insane amount of hours in vanilla D3. Game is currently much better, and if you enjoy the genre, it's more than worth getting.

As for trying - i nerdraged so much the first month of release i got to act2 inferno with my DH and found a pack of elite sand sharks with shielding and other suffixes. Basically they pop out, shield, then return underground till they enraged and killed me. I deleted all my chars at that time.

After a couple of patches i returned, played extensively and also did p100 on my new DH. Still the system wasn't that good, but at least was doable.

While i like challenge (and current torment levels are really nice in terms of scaling imho), current system feels infinetly mroe rewarding and fun than before. Repesct for people that cleared 1.0 Diablo inferno, but 99% of them just bought dream gear from AH and beat the contet with that. Any self-found only char didn't have the material time (unless lots of luck) to farm enough gear to tackle inferno.

For more details feel free to PM, would take a uberlong post to explain everything.

I bought it yesterday having never played it before, after I heard about the changes.

I must say I really enjoy it.

It's kinda worth playing since 2.0 and will be better with RoS, but I CBA atm.

The new patch did fix a lot of problems I had with the game.

I am really enjoying it myself and may even get ROS just because I have enjoyed it so much. Can't make up my mind if I want to get ROS now or wait for the Ps4 release.

I only played Diablo for a while after release, got bored with it within a month. However, I recently started playing again and I am really enjoying all the changes and am now planning on buying the expansion.

You can also get a discounted bundle for 60 € (don't know dollar price) that include D3 and RoS at the moment. It's a decent time to start if you have the cash.

    Depends if you like ARPG's.

For a stand alone, 60-200 hour game off fun, sure good value. Try out all classes to max level, grind on your most liked class etc...

Thanks for the info everyone. I just saw their half off promotion so I'm definitely gonna get it before the promo ends

Worth it, I quit playing about 2 months after release and I just returned couple of days ago and I'm having so much fun I preordered RoS.

Patch 2.0 got me back into the game and I never really got into the vanilla game (got to 60 then quit). Its definitely better but don't get the console version, I don't think its running 2.0

I bought it at launch, played it (when servers allowed me to) and gave it back for a refund as being a pile of crap.

Now, at the current reduced price, its much more worth it, loot is better, game is better now, less bugs less server issues, its not totally screwed up by AH focussed design (and AH is going totally shortly).

I'd say try the trial and if you like it, then its worth a punt at the current reduced price.

Even if you don't like ARPGs (Diablo series, Path of Exile, Torchlights etc), just doing the campaign and then doing some of the other game modes that RoS is bringing in, will probably keep you occupied for longer than most single player RPG games.
They're (short for They are) describes a group of people. "They're/They are a nice bunch of guys." Their indicates that something belongs/is related to a group of people. "Their car was all out of fuel." There refers to a location. "Let's set up camp over there." There is also no such thing as "could/should OF". The correct way is: Could/should'VE, or could/should HAVE.

Can the PC version be played with full controller support yet? Seeing as the console versions are now released, I see why not

I would not recommend ever buying it to be honest. Hell I got it for free and feel ripped off.
