The more I see it, the more I tend to disagree. I definitely get an over-compensation vibe from this, I mean, he's charging through the box art's frame... with fire! It tries so hard to be "SAVAGE" It's hilarious.

Also, I just noticed as I was typing this, but the Orc's hair in the cover art reminds me of Varian's hair. Not only is his hair so silky smooth it'd make L'oreal cover girls look like amateurs, but the flaps of hair (Best description I could come with) in the front are very similar to Varian's. He even has a Braided ponytail to counter Varian's loose one!

The over-compensating nature of it, along with it seeming like he stole a page from a human's (Varian) big book of fashion tips, kinda kills any badassery it could possibly have for me. It's kind of embarrassing for me to look at by this point, actually. The expansion itself looks great so far though.

EDIT: I just realized there's more hair behind that Orc's head than I initially noticed. The hair draped in front of him still looks funny to me, though.

.... Oh, wow. I didn't remember he had that hair style, and I completely failed to recognize him without the green skin. I feel so silly that I didn't recognize him now.

I still find that his hair style looks better on a human, though. Probably because, as you mentioned, it's based on a real human hairstyle.

Edit: On the upside, knowing that that's Grom changed my opinion of the cover art. Of course it looks so ridiculously over-the-top and crazy. It's freaking Grom! He's been known to be a loose cannon.

I can just picture the photoshoot now...

Thrall: "Alright, we're at the shoot. Now, remember what I told you. Ready, buddy?"

Grom: "Yeah yeah, 'don't kill the photographer, he'll give us good PR.' Whatever. I don't get why I'd wanna -- What?! Thrall, he's a Human!

Photographer: "Hey, big guy! Grommash, right? Good to meet you! Just stand over here and we can get started."

Grom: "Wha... I - you dare give me orders, whelp?! I'll--"
