Should pillars be removed from arena?

Lets be honest here, pillars in arena are annoying, all it does is give healers a even bigger advantage and druids just run around them healing all day long which to be honest should be stopped.

Removing them would just prove who is more skilled imo.

    Thoughts?

Removing them = people spamming damage and who ever has the most instant ranged cc wins.

as a melee, no keep pillars. I fucking hate them but arena would be even more of a joke without them. Having no ability to LoS would make it a nukefest.

Isn't that what happens now anyway?

So you just want a big empty room because you have issues with your positioning and can't use them to your own advantage?

Removing pillars aka LoS is a stupid idea. I feel like the only people who hate them are egotistical players that think they're better than they really are. They might be top 3 dps or heals in a raid, but when they enter a PvP zone, they forget to check their ego. When they think they're about to win but the person LoS's they think "wtf, common!!!" then they lose because of a slip up.

So removing the ONE element where skill reigns supreme proves who is more skilled?

No. Without pillars, skill wouldn't matter. It's as simple as that.

Whether you like the pillars or not, they do add to the skill depth in arena. Not that arena means much to me anyway, but still. If you made positioning not matter at all, it would be ridiculous.

This is going to be changed for sure in WoD. With a of HoTs becoming casting and CC to get a massive nerf, might as well remove Pillars.

Just DODGING behind pillars or corners is skill related, but pillar humping is a client to server issue. I have watched a lot of vids in the 2200+ brackets, and I RARELY see pillar humping for 10 minutes. It's USUALLY over in around 3 minutes. So imo, humping isn't really skill...

Their presence should be toned down, but outright removed? No.

It would though, it would involve counter ccing, interupting and more or less be a more skilled experience for all involved.

A bad player can run around a pillar all game just aswell as a good player can, doesn't require any skill.

This feels like the sentiments of a man who has lost quite a few matches in arena due to pillarhumping.

How would removing pillars prove who is more skilled?
Pillars should stay. They allow for less geared players to win by playing smarter and better. Without pillars, top geared players can much more easily steamroll lesser geared players. I can understand that pillars are annoying in 2v2. But who cares about 2v2? The only interesting matches are in 3v3 or 5v5.

They already do by rooting/stunning the undergeared players.

Sure, go ahead and remove pillars so long as every mage, hunter, warlock, priest, shaman and druid is forced to stay within melee range of the enemy or they instantly die.

    Otherwise, hell no.

Pillarhumping IS pvp, without it what would it be?
