Night is not a very happy time, which makes me question why the hell I stay up during it.

Anyways, it could very well be something along those lines. Without going into any details, he's had an extremely stressful childhood, and it's easy enough to credit it to that.

I love the night, actually. You just need the correct attitude. I blend into the shadows, and I love watching the stars over me. Night-time away from any light pollution is my favorite thing ever.

I was walking in the woods by where I lived, and I saw a kid walking a little ways ahead of me, nothing out of the ordinary, a lot of the local kids wandered about through there. I figured he was in earshot of me so I asked where he was going, kid stopped dead in his tracks, I go up to him, doesn't talk or do anything but stand there, staring onward. I'm a bit creeped out at this point so I keep walking down the path, a few steps later I look back and the kid is gone, no sounds to know he ran off, at the time it just scared the shit out of me, but he probably hid behind a nearby tree and managed to not stop on anything to alert me to his disappearance, still though...scary stuff.

I'm sure attitude has quite a bit to do with surviving the night. It sounds lovely, until you run the possibility of being mugged/stabbed/shot/abused on the spot. I don't think these things intentionally, they just....appear.

If he kept staring ahead like a semi-conscious zombie without responding, I would've knocked that kid the fuck out.

Uhm, mine isnt as scary but, it was in the middle of the night. I got woken up by something and I can see through my curtains that theres some kind of blinking light. So I went to take a look, and I wasnt sure if its real, but the whole dark sky was blinking with a dark green light. I stared at it for a good 30 seconds and I told myself, I had to pee. Then I just went back to bed. I know it wasnt any kind of car or any type of vehicle from a distance that was doing it, because the whole sky was doing it. It was around 2am and 4am. This happened in Tampa.

I told the story to a friend of mine, and he said, he saw the same thing, the sky was blinking green lights. He lived in Springhill which is a good 40 to 50 miles? Ive tried googling it afterwards, but that wasnt until a couple of years after. I just find it bizarre....

Ive had some encounters with third eyes, possessions, but im too lazy to type it up right now XD

Well, I was a small kid. Not sure I was in school yet even. I was playing by a window that faced the train tracks. I looked up and saw something just hovering along the train tracks. No noise, nothing behind it. Just a single tall boxish thing with lights that lit up the cabin to show two figures in it. It looked like a giant rectangle just hovering along the tracks. I just sat and watched it pass by. No clue what it was. Certainly wasn't a train. Was moving far to slowly for that.

Once when I was a kid, someone was trying to break into our house via the basement door. Luckily my father was home at the time (he works nights) and Princess, our lab and shepard mix was still with us. He took her out and chased the person away. My poor mom was beyond terrified, I was too young to really understand what was going on.

Not really an unexplained thing now, but at the time I had no idea what was going on, it was scary.

It's just my mind being all "Oh, movie jump scares don't get you? Imagine one in real
life. Like right now." Is not an intentional thought (like yours too,) it's just the
subconscious going where you'd rather it not. So, windows and mirrors are avoided at
    night.

That said, I love nigh time, the 'best' tv shows are on, it's dark (I see a bit better in
dimmer light,) and it's cooler than during the day.

Subconscious is one rude brain function. I hate mirrors at all times of day, they're just...so easy to imagine something going wrong in that situation, no matter what.

Some really weird shit has happend to me throughout the years, some scary, some silly and some just weird.

At my childhood home, there was this house which was about 100m from mine. I was living on the main road, like straight next to it. There was always talk about that there were "bad" people at this house, but i was far too young to know what it was. Anyways, we had this huge parking lot in front of our house instead of a garden, because there was this shipping factory and what-not right next to our house. One day i was outside playing and i heard a woman screaming really loud. I look up and i see a girl running faster then Usain Bolt from that house while half naked. No one followed her, but later on that house was emptied by the police. Not really scary, but kinda weird, living so close for so many years yet not noticing.

Not to freak you out, but it sounds like it was an ambush for people trying to help the 2 on the ground, that's why they all darted out of the woods when they saw you guys were just going to go around. My brother's girlfriend's parents are from Colorado, and the mother says she has come into contact with lots of cultists in back road areas, she said one time they just walked past the road with a large candlestick, but they just kept going. I have heard before though that Colorado has a lot of cult activity.

The shadow of a Cats tail rising up against the wall opposite my bed and strolling the length of my room before vanishing late one night when I was a child. There was no cat in my room, let alone the house as ours was put outside at night, and our bedroom doors closed at night. Wasn't from outside either as I had small windows with no outcrop in which an animal could walk upon.

Only ever happened once, but it still makes me a little cold with fear to this day when I stare at a wall opposite of me while lying in bed.

Oh I know the feeling. There was a movie that came out... um... soon after The Phantom
Menace, I think that dealt with mirrors. Like, some evil things living in them, look into
a mirror at night and the evil thing will get you, stuff like that. Just the preview scarred
me for life. Wish I knew the name of it...

My boyfriend and I were fooling around in the car while out in the woods somewhere...it was an area that was surrounded by Native American reservation land. It was dark and it was getting late so we started driving back, taking an old back road home. About halfway home we saw an old Native woman by the side of the road, eyes wide and mouth open. Just...there by the side of the road, wearing a long nightgown. It was an area where NO one was around, no small towns or anything. Just protected land.

It was the creepiest thing I had ever seen. It didn't even enter my mind that the woman was lost or in need of help, that's how creepy it was. I can't really explain how or why it had seemed so creepy and surreal.

My boyfriend turns to me, face pale, and asks, "did it look to you like she was floating off of the ground?". I swear to God, this is what he says verbatim. He does like 80 mph the rest of the way home.

I expect absolutely no one to believe this story. It sounds like some really badly written horror movie shit, and/or two kids who had active imaginations. But it happened. I assume the woman was not in fact some ghost from beyond the grave, just some old lady who lived on reservation land and who probably suffered from Alzheimer's or dementia, and had wandered out of her house late at night. But still...can't shake the feeling about how creepy it was.

    One other story...

My friend Sabrina and I drove up from Chicago to Wisconsin so she could interview for a chef's position at a summer resort on a lake in some tiny rural town. We were invited to spend the night in one of the condo rentals while she interviewed and cooked breakfast/dinner for her potential employers; it was the off-season and it was winter so the town was more desolate than typical. Bree and I stayed up until 3am talking when we went to bed--she had to be up at 8am to cook breakfast.

4:30 am and I'm woken up by someone pacing up and down the hall of the condo, banging shit around in the kitchen and opening and closing a bunch of drawers. I am irritated because I assume its Sabrina. I decide that I'm too tired to yell at her to stfu so I just fall back asleep (once you've lived in college dorms you learn that you can sleep through almost anything).

I wake up at 7:30 tired as all hell, but I'm supposed to go downstairs and help her set up so I throw on some clothes and go into the living room. Sabrina is there looking pissed. "What the FUCK were you doing all night, making all that noise?" she said.

    ....

Anyway, we talk to the owners about it who swear that no one else had a key to the condo, they live about an hour away from the resort. We decide that we were creeped out enough so we leave ASAP after her breakfast interview.

Still not sure what happened that night, doors had double locks with a swipe card/turn lock and we had checked the locks before bed. I'm assuming it was probably a break-in and/or the owners of the place were weirdos, but it felt plenty creepy at the time.
