The story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, a brother and sister whose reputations as brilliant NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) hikikomori (shut-in) gamers have spawned urban legends all over the Internet. These two gamers even consider the real world as just another "crappy game." One day, they are summoned by a boy named "God" to an alternate world. There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where "everything is decided by games"—even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. Will Sora and Shiro, the good-for-nothing brother and sister, become the "Saviors of Humanity" on this alternate world? "Well, let's start playing."

The story looks kinda unique to other series (Unlike sword art online and database).


One posibility is that the main character (and his sister) go in coma due to much gaming. And after this they are stuck in this fantazy world (well this is how i would explain teleport into another world....). And they are probaly in hospital stuck on life support. (explains how they survived the fall)

For a 1.st episode is interesting (but story goes too fast). I will have to see more to judge but i give it 4.2/5.

Unique huh? must have not seen Mondaiji Tachi. that said i do like it so far.
this, Mahouka Koukou, and Black Bullet are my 3 favorites of the season.

It's nothing like SAO or Log Horizon what so ever. It's not virtual reality.

The two closest series you can compare it to are Mondaijitachi and Btooom! in that order.

It's pretty much an exact copy of Mondaijitachi.

Personally I love the animation style, even though some others don't like how red it is. Plus the sister is pretty great.

There isn't a reasoning to where they are other than they were literally sucked into another world that is built on games. An alternate universe. That was described when they went through the God who created it dialog.

Don't try to compare it to SAO when there is absolutely no connection at all.

From the looks of the article, the coma wasn't a direct result of the 16-hour CoD session. It was due to the fact that the kid drank 4 liters of energy drinks to stay awake.

That's SAO in a nutshell. This show isn't VR in the slightest. No coma. No hospital.

It's airing on AT-X, which is a paid channel that airs stuff like High School DxD. The first episode has no ecchi except for the very end after the ED which (not really spoilers but kinda) has a girl wrapped in a bedsheet with her upper breasts showing knocking on MC's door.

if you like shows without ecchi you might want to check out Mahouka Koukou no rettousei if you haven't already. first episode is a bit slow, but informative.

as zath said, you get used to it, and i've only read the light novel for this series about a dozen or so times and have been waiting for the anime for about 2 years.

The artstyle is great, so far the best this season, I still have high hopes for Shaft's Mekakucity Actors though.
Other than that, it seems fine so far, too early to say for sure, but looks enjoyable and will probably end above average, I think it may end up being somewhere at 5-7 / 10. My biggest concern is how thick the MC's plot armor will be, in other words, just how easily can they win the games and how will they keep the opponents fun, challenging and interesting.

I did, it's pretty good as well, but in different ways. It's more like "great in classic art style", while this seems more alternative, "simple, yet pleasant" art style, like Katanagatari which I loved for it's artwork.
I like both of them though, I totally forgot in this first week there was Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou. ^^

I've got to admit, I do like the show so far, despite obvious comparisons and I always enjoy it when Madhouse put effort into creating something bright and colourful too. It doesn't seem like the kind of show to expect amazing or shocking twists and such, but instead just looks like a fairly solid 'by these rules' kind of series. I like the main characters' attitudes/style and I like the setup so far.

I think the entire point is they win everything.

You see at the beginning they're the best gamers on Earth and the girl has calculated every single possible scenario in chess (which is impossible).

yeah, when they play 2 characters each (4 total) and beat 1200 players (including at least 1 cheating) you know they are retardedly strong.
