Thread: PC Part Upgrade

    Question PC Part Upgrade

    • Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G550 @ 2.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
    • Memory: 4096MB RAM
    • Available OS Memory: 4078MB RAM
    • DirectX Version: DirectX 11
    • Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS

I'm looking to upgrade part of my computer to run better for WoD. I don't want to spend more than say $100, any idea what part upgrade would give me the most FPS boost?

I don't know much of anything about computers, I just grabbed this info from dxdiag so if it's not enough I can add what's needed. Would appreciate any suggestions. ^_^

For 100$ you can't upgrade anything that will give you an FPS boost for WoW.
Here is the minimum that will give a boost in WoW:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($124.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($52.99 @ Micro Center)
    Total: $177.98
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Ah well thank you for the fast reply, I guess the price I put was a bit too optimistic. Do you know what kind of performance increase that would give? I'd like to be able to play WoD with at least good graphics settings.

That mobo+i3 can have you play at high settings, but probably your gpu will bottleneck you.

As long as I don't need to play WoD in 'Silent Hill' mode I think I'll be happy. Thanks for the reply. :)
