I guess in a perfect world, where judges were robots that judged only on the evidence given at hand, he would probably be okay (if there wasn't sufficient evidence against him).

But I can understand why he'd get that removed, it kinda sends the wrong message. Or wear a turtleneck

I would just let him wear a turtle neck for his trial.
    Simple solution.
Comments I have been reading about this situation all day really seemed to have smoked out the judgemental gits.. wowzers ( not here but in the reported pages)

"Would the defendant please show the court his neck tat that says murder that has been all over the news?"
    "No? Alright."

And that is EXACTLY why it should be removed. It in no way has bearing on the facts of what he is accused of. Do you know what "Right to a fair trial" means?

There is a motion to strike all mention of it from the trial.

    Really? Huh.
I'm surprised anyone could be judgemental about some poor sod who got MURDER tattoo'd on their bloody neck.

So people accused of something, should be based upon their appearance and not actual evidence. What a jury system that would be

If only a juror's mind could be completely wiped of something that ridiculous. (I know, laws and stuff. I'm mostly kidding, its just a statement to how screwed this kid is.)

At least if it was spelled REDRUM in forward facing letters it might be a bit clever. Did he do it himself in a mirror?

does not mean he killed someone. ^_^
I have known a few people who by the looks of their tatts you would think they were anti gay, nazis, but are great power bottoms... ANd knowing people like that exist in the world, how can I have a visual bias just because someone has some dumb shit on their neck?

Means different things depending on which group he is going by it varies a lot. Usually has something to do with being sent to prison. That and you have the whole filled or empty thing as well. Usually they indicate they know someone who was killed or they got sent to prison for murder. I saw a few when I was a corrections officer each guy told me something different that is why it's hard to say exactly.

Get a felt tipped pen and change it to Mordor, then go into court with fake elf ears.

Nobody would put an obsessive Tolkien fan in prison, as they'd never survive, so he'll get let off with community service or some trivial crap like that.

This legal malarkey is easy. I really should have become a lawyer.

    No.

It's a relevant reflection of his psychological state.
