So, if this is considered art, is me crapping on a canvas art as well? Seriously, i don't get it. Someone proclaims to be an artist, and magically their dumb shit becomes art? Someone painting a wall with his dick is a moron, get an art degree and people will pay 20 bucks to see you do it.

I mean, beautiful paintings and stuff, i get those are considered art. But where does the line for art end? Someone trowing aborted fetuses at a canvas? I could see this woman do that as well. Now some of u might think "every buisiness has it cooks", but this was at a big art Expo. meaning this is something they want people to see, etc.

Honestly, I think there's very little value to talk of "better" or "worse" art, except if we're measuring actual skill of artists, as opposed to how "artsy" a particular piece is.

Anything can be art. People who claim video games can't be art are uneducated morons who want to change definitions of words just to reflect their own opinion, usually for some sort of agenda. If a bum sculpts a interpretation of his emotion in his own feces, that is art if he considers it as such. Disgusting but art nonetheless.

You are entitled to your opinion of what is "good" art, since it is an expression. But you can't say it isn't art because you don't like it.

Since art is for the purpose of entertainment, it is art as soon as it becomes "just someone doing dumb shit"

Haha that was some of the most pretentious garbage I've seen in a while. I'm not an artist but it baffles me how some of this shit gets passed off as art nowadays. When ever I see this kind of thing I feel that it's insulting towards some of the great artist of the past. Who painted or sculpted magnificently detailed works which transcend the ages. Thankfully I think this kind of thing is a phase which will eventually fade out with time.

I've been to art academy but I quit. Didn't feel like I was in the right place, I was disgusted by a lot of 'art' I saw. I miss craftsmanship in a lot of modern art.

Apparently everything can be and is art, but to me when everything is art, nothing is art.

You can't define art because that is, obviously, different for everyone. I think it's when someone shows what they thought and make it into something beautiful. And yes, sometimes something very simple or imperfect can be beautiful.
