    Who is voting for UKIP?

Been speaking to a lot of people lately about who they are going to vote for next year in the general election, and supprised how many say UKIP now!

I must admit I am voting UKIP too, some of the MP's are idiots (but they are getting withdrawn from the party when they mess up) but I do like Farage, a beer gusling Brit, who talks a bit more sense (generally) than the others currently.

So why do you think UKIP are seeing a much bigger following now?

what country, what election, who are the UKIP? what are the MP?
I've no idea what to write here.

Sheer apathy. Personally I think it is a sign of the problem in britains politics at the moment that people feel the need to vote for fringe groups because the mainstream groups dont actually listen to british people.

In many ways I see a big corelation between 21st century britain and 1930's germany. Im just hoping it works out better for us...

Because when everything goes to the crapper and someone mouths the right promises things can go bad quite quickly.

I don't dislike UKIP, but things such as abolishing maternity leave (If they're still planning that, they got a lot of flak) will probably steer my household away from them.

I don't want the leader of my country to be the guy who is a heavy drinker heavy smoker and looks like the kind of guy who will always buy his round. I want the intelligent one. Lad points mean nothing to me when it comes to who manages the country. I am certainly not voting for Farage. The others are useless but the lesser of two evils as far as I'm concerned. If I can choose between an Oxford educated man who's stuck up and out of touch as hell and a guy who just comes across as shady but more friendly, I would go for Oxford any day.

Since they sound similar to the American GOP, if I were British, I would not vote for them.

    Huh, sounds like a UK-based GOP spin-off.

I don't think I'd like them much more broadly, but I do like scrapping mandatory paid maternity leave. Ultimately, funding for vacations is a zero sum game, and I'm disinclined to pay people to have kids. Want to have a kid? Good for you! Plan ahead and save some money, don't demand my money for your time off.

U.K.I.P. are a joke party, they've got probably one or two minor policies I'd agree with, but the majority of their stances on situations are ludicrous.

Brits who actually care about the future of their country and not European socialism.

I predict this thread ending well, OT they haven't had the best few months what with a few of their representatives being found out to be racist sexist and homophobic.

I suppose we should be thankful that UKIP came along and this thread doesn't read "who is voting for BNP?"

I've lost all hope in the British public, and if Scotland leaves the UK it's only going to get worse. The Scottish have a reason to give a shit about politics. Most of England will vote for someone because The Sun or The Daily Mail says so. And the rest of the UK won't have enough population to outweigh that any more.

This is the reason why I don't trust them: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...s-8697821.html

It's so obvious as soon as you speak to people that their idea of what the country is like outside of their own little bubble has been plucked out of their arse.

You mean UKIP members have been victimised by the newspapers that support other parties.

I have to admit, i've been able to vote for the last 10 years, although i haven't. i guess thats a good enough answer. If i felt strongly enough about a party i probably would but for me its like trying to choose the lesser of 3 evils, i'd prefer to not bother at all. especially when the evils are rape, famine, slavery i mean what choice is there really your getting fucked one way or another, If i started a new political party my slogan would be 'We Hope you like S&M'.

Farage looks and sounds like a big conman, he claims to "be one of the lads" and the working class lap this up. He was infact educated at a very expensive private school and worked as a stockbroker, he has never done a blue collar job in his life. He is as full of shit as the other parties but at least they have long term plans, unlike UKIP.
