LOL, no, not shaman. Shaman will just get you focused 100% of the time, and you will likely learn very little.
Try paladin.
Out of all of them I think the druid is my favorite. Although he's more of a support druid...and less of 'oh shit big heals!' healer. I still have more fun playing him than any of my others.
None of the healers is easier to learn over an other.
Each of the have the basic healing set
Big heal, slow cast, low mana
Big heal, Fast cast, High mana
Low heal, slow cast, low mana
Each healer has someting special that makes them diffrent, but choose what you prefer.
Want to work with HoTs ?
Want to work with Chain heals ?
Want to work with Damage healing (atoment) ?
Want to work with chakras ?
Want to work with buffs (hands of XXX) ?
Want to wotk with Chi ?
You choose, we cant
Restoration Shaman - It's easy enough to perform, but mastering it can take time like any other class.
Throwing down Healing Rain & Healing Stream will provide the majority of your Healing in LFR / Dungeons, and once you've done that you'll have learnt enough to take the step into Flex, and maybe Normal Modes.
In retrospect, I'd say Mistweaver is the hardest to master.
I play mistweaver and resto shaman and they both are pretty simple/ similar in difficulty...though i don't play any other healer so i can't compare >.<
all healers are really easy to learn compared to dps and tanks
If you have a hard time to preform under presure I would pic a mistweaver for their mobillity and ability to get out of tricky situations.
Else go druid, hot's are always fun, esp. in BGs
Even though this is highly off-topic, I don't see how healers would be any harder to learn than DPS and tank.
Healing does however require more coordination with the others than for example DPS that can in many ways be accepting of "lone wolfs". But no, healing isn't hard to learn and master, at all.

The statement that started you was: "How is getting focused 100% of the time easier than having a ton of escapes like monk, pally, druid?"
Your response to that: "it's exactly that: shamans don't have that many tools ..."
But it's illogical, not having a ton of escapes <> not having many tools.
You see it now? Even your premise about shamans not having many tools is wrong. To say nothing about not having many tools somehow translating into lower skillcap (which is also a non-starter).
Shaman's just don't have that many tools, most of their utility comes from totems that they drop and give a group wide buff while every other healer has targeted spells.
My premise about shamans is 100% correct, I play one and after my big cds are out I might as well fall over and die. Shamans also don't have a very high skillcap because there's nothing like deathing ccs or saccing ccs, only having one cc they can use themselves, very simple healing (healing surge and totems) compared to other classes.
Like the hardest thing about playing a resto shaman is having arena123 interrupt macros and maybe hex.
