So I asked in game if people know about no flying in WoD interesting responses

So I went in game and asked in general chat if they knew flying was going to be removed in the next expansion. The responses were all over the place. One person said they knew. Multiple people call me a liar and to not troll. Multiple people started asking if it were true. People immediately started saying that is not true and saying I needed to shut the blank up.

I do not think people know in game. I really don't. I think players in game need to be aware of the upcoming changes. At least be aware of them.

Maybe these players can help blizzard make the right decision sooner rather than later.

It is not being removed. You just can't fly in Warlords of Draenor content, at least until 6.1. One servers general chat is hardly proof of the overall feedback of WoW's population and of course, screen shots or it didn't happen

Well it's to be expected. Most people do not frequent forums or even read patch notes I reckon. Your average casual WoW player just plays the game for what it is, they don't obsess over changes and number crunching with nerfs/buffs etc.

You still lied about it being removed. Which it isn't. So even if you did produce plenty of screen shots of their reactions you are giving them false information.

its exactly what i'd expect... most wow players dont come to places like mmo-c, or follow changes they just play to have fun, and I think when WoD hits with out flying at max level there will be a major backlash from those people... personally i can't wait for it b.c. i hate the change and find a sad waste of one the unique features of WoW that should be expanded upon not limited.

The latest stance from Blizz is "we don't know" if flight will be gone for good or not in WoD. They are waiting to see how players take to not being able to fly, then deciding whether or not to implement it later.

The vast majority of people who play wow don't visit forums or read patch notes. Many don't have a clue at all and many just go by what their guild mates or other players tell them. The problem is cases like the OP who mis-inform people who in turn pass on wrong information and things spiral from there. Generally people are too lazy or too stupid to do their own research.

Flying is not being removed in WoD. You will not be able to fly in WoD zones. Much like you wouldn't fly while leveling in BC, WotLK and MoP. Much like you cannot fly on Timeless Isle and Isle of thunder. Would be nice if people like the OP stopped spreading wrong information.

Not flying in two tiny islands that are completed in a week and rarely visited again other than for charms is not the same as the entire continent for the game for the next two years not having flying

I told them there was no flying in the new expansion. For the record, most people would consider no flying on WOD continent as flying being removed from the game.

Blizzard doesn't know if flying will be gone or not.

You shouldn't tell misinformed people that flying will be restricted for the entire duration of the expansion. Blizzard is dead set on keeping it out of WoD until 6.1 and they're mulling over the idea of the entire expansion yes but nothing is set in stone. Stop being dishonest

Your question was set up to get answer bias. It's like asking, "When did you stop sucking dicks?" It implies they did it at some point. To defend either way makes them look like a liar.

Plus if you wanted to get 'real data' you'd have to have a legitimate question and ask it on like 10 servers in a specific spot each time while only collecting answers for a set amount of time. But really in-game is a terrible way to attempt to 'pole people.'

Some people won't know. Others will know and troll you hard. Then, there are some that will argue semantics whether we will have it or not.

At first it looked like we won't have it until the first patch. Later posts indicate a slight possibility of its removal, yet that is extremely unlikely.

Blizzard often sticks to their ideas, but they will gut some things that players overanalyze/despise like RealID's initial intended forum setup and Path of the Titans. (Probably more an issue of glyphs and just an idea they didn't make work the way they wanted to.)

Lately though the devs will stick to their plan until the damage is done. When the negative feedback spam rolls in, they will eventually remove said addition/change. This is how I foresee the flying debacle turning out.
