I have an issue with Fraps. When I'm trying to record various games, Fraps is having random hangups while the gameplay recording is very smooth at 60FPS or 30FPS however you wanna record it. I usually pick 30, because youtube caps at 30 fps. Further more after a few minutes recording I get a slightly longer hangup and fraps stops recording after that. I've tried various methods and none seem to be working I've uninstalled codecs, disabled windows search indexing. But don't seem to work. I've also tried recording at a lower resolution which is 1600x900, but it doesn't seem to matter I still get random hangups.

My PC should be more of capable running fraps. And asside ofthe hangups the fraps recording is smooth and no stutter at all.

Info on my PC:
i5 2500k
8GB RAM DDR3
GPU 670GTX nVidia

C:\ (For OS, some applications and games)
D:\ (Other Games HDD)
F:\ (fraps HDD) WD 7200 RPM and 600GB

I'm currently using Fraps v3.5.99

So I have my Fraped videos saved to F:\ and my OS/Some games are running from C:\. Currently I have Fraps installed on C:\ I tried installed it on another HDD, but it didn't take away the hangups issue so went back to C:\ for now.

Here's some reports;

Just want to point out that neither my game, or fraps crash. I just get a long hangup in the game then the game resumes playing Fraps just stops recording, but doesn't crash.

Also I downloaded nVidia Shadowplay to see if I would get any issues recording with that and I recorded about 10 minutes. I didn't have any hangups or performance issues while recording with Shadowplay The files are also significant smaller. Shadowplay recording play is way inferior to that from Fraps and Fraps videos are way superior for editing purposes like in Premiere. I really want to get Fraps to work and would like to find out what's causing these hangups.

My system temps seems to be stable CPU is around 50-60 and GPU temps is around 50-60 and not higher than 65ish which seems fairly normal considering it's summer and pretty warm here. Fraps does bumb my temps up abit, but it doesn't go to a temp level that seems problematic. My temps without fraps recording are around 45ish.

I tried an older version of nVidia drivers and also updated to the latest driver, but no changes I still get that long hangup which ends my fraps recording. I already reinstalled Fraps a few times, but the problem still remains. I've also tried frapsing several other games such as Dark Souls II, Dark Souls, Tomb Raider, HL2, Bioshock, and CoD and I'm getting hangups like mentioned above so it must not be Dark Souls II, because that was the game I was frapsing footage from. Tried moving games to another HDD, but I'm still getting the same problem.

Has anyone encountered simular issues? Any help would be much appreciated, because the game hang ups are really annoying, thanks in advance
