Do blacksmiths still exist in the real world? i mean like authentic blacksmiths that are good at what they do? I'm looking for one.

r.i.p. alleria. 1997-2017. blizzard ruined alleria forever. blizz assassinated alleria's character and appearance.
i will never forgive you for this blizzard.
Both the traditional and modern kind exist. Although, I believe the modern kind are more often referred to as metalsmiths.
I'm looking to get some pieces made custom to use as a wall piece.
I remember going to a Blacksmith shop in Arizona. Don't remember what city it was though sorry. Had all sorts of metalworks, she even made me an Arrowhead!
Blacksmithing is actually really fun, it's totally worth getting into if anyone has the
inclination to do so. You can even learn to do a good amount of techniques on YouTube.
The biggest hurdle to being a Blacksmith, in my opinion, is the initial cost of supplies
and tools.
Awe Me, Tony Swatton is a Blacksmith.
He's on Youtube, and is extremely popular for his work, where he takes a fictional work, and then makes a real weapon out of the fictional work.
Check him out, it's nice to see him at work.
Whoever loves let him flourish. / Let him perish who knows not love. / Let him perish twice who forbids love. - Pompeii
Of course they exist.
Metalsmiths are relatively common so to speak. If you are looking for a Blacksmith that won't use any modern tools or methods, that is a different deal. They exist, but it will cost you. A lot. Unless you go to a country like India where they are still pretty much everywhere, tho they might not be familiar with the methods and things you are looking for.

This dude is the biggest geek ever, but if you have the time to watch this vid, he has very deep knowledge of metal working. I love how he explains the "how and why" he does everything in this vid. Pretty amazing.

I'm a novice blacksmith that's part of a small blacksmithing club. One of our founders was one of the founding members of ABANA.

They are still out there, all kinds of even. Usually you don't get things like iron gates, fancy hand rails and stuff mass produced. Sadly they are just as rare as proper carpenters that still build decent furniture.
Will Smith is a black Smith.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Also, it's should HAVE. NOT "should of". "Should of" doesn't even make sense. If you think you should own a cat, do you say "I should of a cat" or "I should have a cat"? Do you HAVE cats, or do you OF cats?
A number of them around here (South Carolina) & we knew several in Ohio that shod our horses & ponies back in the day. Although I guess some are considered farriers & are more of a hoof care discipline than of forging the horseshoes :)

‘golden repair’, is the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer. The aesthetic philosophy focuses on imperfections rather than attempting to disguise them, with the intention that the piece becomes both more valuable and more beautiful because of its history and for having been broken.
