Please remove non game related threads from the home pages "recent forums posts"

I don't want to see thread titles like "animal abuse case involving murder-porn" anymore.

I'm always curious to read more when I see horrible shit like this posted, and all it does is make me angry and sad at the world.

I come here for games news, not news news.

Or at the very least, give me a way to disable seeing that junk...

You can set filters for that. Right underneath the last recent post it says forum filters.

Basically this. At the bottom of the "Recent Forum Posts" table, there is a green button labelled 'Forum Filters'. Click it, and a checklist of all the subforums pops up, and you can check which forums you would like to appear on the front page "Recent Forum Posts" and which ones to ignore.

As many have said. Under the recent posts forums is a "News Filter" option where you can disable select forums. Just check the ones you want to see and your good to go.
