I think it could work if the world would decentralize and then recentralize altogether. If all of the world countries broke up into relatively smaller city-states, unification could be worked towards with peace in mind.

    I agree. Well said.

While I love the idea of socialism, it doesn't work in most cases for the same reason you get pissed off when a co-worker with the same job/pay sits in the breakroom all day while you bust your ass; some people coast along while others bust their asses and that causes unrest.

Second thing you said about is direct democracy, which isn't a bad thing at all.
No, communism isn't based on killing the rich. In fact its only basis in class warfare is to end it.

idk looks good to me but then again that's what people in the old one thought as well... what do you people think
Ok so how would you organize this even at a local level? You would need some people to take the lead in setting up the polls. You would then need people to over see basic things like roads, public safety and fire. So in essence you would set up a government.............. Even if its done over the internet hackers could easily manipulate the outcome. Of course you need some group of trusted people to monitor these things which would be a form of government.

There are indigenous tribes that still function tribally without leaders, as well as Communes that do not have elders. However, these work on the scale of dozens or maybe 100-200.
I have heard of those. But they usually do not last very long. And the ones who do usually benefit from the other societies which do have leadership roles. Or they stay so far behind the technical advancements of other societies as to not even benefit from it. Which means they are subjected to dying from simple diseases or ailments which can easily be cured. And when there are 6 billion + people in the world, a few dozen or even 100 - 200 are not enough to even make a comparison of how well something can succeed. Sheer numbers of people requires even more of leadership roles or we have chaos.

So the truth remains, pure Communism can not succeed for humans. Not when you consider all humans on the planet as a whole. It is seriously flawed and driven by the misconception mankind is capable of controlling some basic human undesirable traits.

Because people always want more, and if no one can work harder to climb the ladder then you lose motivation and everything goes to shit, or the temp government that helps set up Communism isn't actually temporary.

It sounds like you are talking about a open democracy, not communism.

Precisely because of what is mentioned above, any system without a government is called anarchy. There's a problem with that though, in order to distribute said money you would need some sort of collective (a state) to hand that out. Even in Communism however, although everyone would be treated as equals, there would still be a natural ruler within government per se. Why doesn't it work? Because humans have a tendency of avarice ingrained into them from the very beginning, they are taught the importance of money as a child within a Capitalist system and as a result, one's own personal safety and wealth comes before anyone else. While not agreeing with Communism, I believe that Socialism acts as a means of scrutinizing the Capitalist system, especially in cases where the market fails to provide goods to the public and to see humans for humans as opposed to valuing them on their economic utility.

I think the end result would be pure chaos. Especially in terms of controversial subjects and topics. People would go to war. Add that there are millions of things a government - whether that be local or national - has to decide on every year. And if you suggest that everybody has the internet, then they would have to take a ton of time. How much do teachers, firemen, police, hospital workers, min wage. How many policemen and firemen do we need to run something locally or nationallly. The list can go on and on, and this is just the simple stuff. And to suggest that we could do this by popular vote over the internet? Really?

And that's just the simple stuff. What about abortion, military spending, how to handle a terrorist attack. And when things get out of control, people fight, and then you have chaos.

I'm personally a kind of closet semi-socialist, I think. basically, in terms of the USA, I'd love to see a more universal healthcare system. I think ours is completely fucked up. We treat disease, not try and cure it. Thus the more we can keep people on pills, treating a curable disease, the more the medical profession makes. They can make more on treating AIDS and keeping someone on a drug for the rest of their life. Same goes for cancer or Alzheimers, etc.... Add that medicine and drugs in this country cost about 8x more than they do elsewhere, for the same drug by the same company, because they can.

Our system is completely fucked up. It's dominated by lobbyists for big corporations and causes paying off politicians for their votes. So yeah, I can definitely see a need for a lot of change in this country but going without a government is not the answer.
