It is pretty simple. when lock and load proc, should I put a arcane shot in between explosive shots or doesn't it matter if the first one doesn't run out before the next is applied?.

No, you haven't needed to weave in an AS between ESs since last expansion. Explosive shot now works with the Ignite mechanic of fire mages, where the damage is rolled into the previous DoT.
