I hope you're not being serious, the queue times are within a minute for Alliance, and upwards of 10 minutes for Horde, at least on my battlegroup, and similar on others so I've been told.

It seems to me that on WoW the more players on a BG the worse, too easy for the bots/AFKers to hide in the middle of the crowd.

The lack of objectives provides I hope somewhere that will attract and keep hold of the scoreboard humpers, who care only about the number of killing blows and the damage meters.
Those people are having a very detrimental impact on objective based PvP at present.

It looks like the exact same map that old hillsbrad foothills used. You know the very scripted BC dungeon where you start out by flying with a drake over this map.

This is pretty much my idea too. With Ashran being there, where you can have this type of content, but with more stuff to do in the area and special stuff you can get, I don't really see the need for this.

And the 100 vs 100 thing is pretty over the top. That's possibly the limit of what it can hold, and not what you need before the queue pops, but it would probably tax a LOT of people's computers if it filled up and 2 large groups went ham on eachother.

I think this is just one of those things that Blizz tried and iterated on a bit, but ultimately decided not to do anything with (for now). Pretty much like the Dota styled BG they worked on at some point and haven't released.

This is in the USA I assume? O_o In EU Alliance queues (at least mine) are very rarely longer than 45 seconds. Most of the time it is instant tbh.
