What do people think? At $35,000, 20% shorter than the Model S, front wheel drive, and roughly 150 miles of range, would people buy this?

Looks like it was based off a Fusion.
I would be very interested as in the next couple years, Tesla looks to have super charge stations all over the country. Once those stations become common place, I could see Elecs gaining some ground. Especially if prices can get down to the 25-35k range.
Well the shorter range on this one probably wouldn't get you between two supercharger stations how they're set up on the map currently. It might get you from one major city to another, though, depending on distance.
I could see myself buying one, though, and using the gas cost savings to buy myself a plane ticket or a rental car when needed for long trips. 150 miles is more than enough for my daily usage, or even driving down to the beach and back.

I own a Fusion. Same color as the rendering too lol. I looked at the picture and instantly thought Fusion.
Thats exactly what I was saying, if you check Tesla's site, they have a estimated timeline for charging stations. By 2016, they look to have them almost* every where in the US
Front end looks a bit Maserati-ish. Nice.
Chrome surrounds and shiny alloys are a bit 90's though.
Overall, a pretty nice job.

Looks sharp, I would totally buy one. Just need more places to actually charge the car here in the states and I would buy it.
Quite a nice looking car, However it all depends on how long the batteries last, how long it takes to charge, How much it costs to charge.
until Electric cars become faster to charge and run for longer whilst at the same time being charged in a few minuets as you can in a gas station, then they will never be able to replace the combustion engine.
Don't like it.
Then again, I love Ladas so I guess my opinion can be disregarded.
There's apparently a couple supposed to appear in the vicinity of Calgary sometime this year.

Well according to the site I linked (a further link in there), the 48 kwh in a car 20% smaller should last around 150 miles, though I think Musk is trying for 200. The current model S can charge halfway full in 20 minutes using a supercharger station. Since this battery is 26% smaller, I imagine you could do half a charge in 15 minutes. That's just enough time to run into the store, use the toilet, and grab a drink and some fritos before getting back on the road for another 75 miles. And Supercharger stations are free. Zero cost.

Looks very Jaguar, but it's incredibly niche, 150 mile range makes it far too short for me to be a viable car for every day use, I know you're not buying a Tesla as a runaround, but it's just not practical.

150 miles is enough for most people for everyday usage. My rountrip commute on a daily basis is about 41 miles. Throw a few more on there for random errands and I'd still have charge to spare.
